Re: uBITX adjustable power supply?

I just received a five pack of the same boost converters for the same purpose. I'm very interested, also, what anyone's experience has been with these.?

I'll let you know when I try it.?

Re: surprising CW sidetone value in uBITX Manager 0.11 #ubitx

Looks like I'm the only person on this thread, but in case someone else is reading...
I finally found the spot on Ian's Github where he released the new version of uBITX Manager that goes along with 1.08.

The fact that it was released outside the master branch of the source tree threw me off.
Looks like he is not open sourcing the manager app.
If anyone reads this and knows differently please let me know.? Thanks.

uBITX adjustable power supply?

Has anyone used this boost power supply to feed their finals?

It would seem to be perfect for adjusting the voltage to the FETs.? I haven't tried it yet.? I wonder if you have to adjust the bias when doing something like this?

Re: Raduino Pill

BTW..

The schematic can be found in the Files section under W3JDR

Re: RF power chain mods and improvements..

I work with US supply vendors and in some cases ask for COC or similar documentation and get it.
Many of the companies I've dealt with for decades.

Its not a bargain if I get crap and wait twice the time to get it because I had to order and
pay for it again. In general I feel the risk and wasted time for ebay and similar is not
worth it.

I'd bet the market for leaded parts is more ripe for scams and fakes.? Solution,
use SMT parts as they are cheaper more readily available and less likely to be faked.
Yes, they are small but some offer better performance at higher frequencies.
Same for the resistors and caps.? I dead bug (ugly/manhattan construction) them too.

Hi Guys!
The boards arrived today(picture below), so I'll be starting to populate them ASAP. I'll be away most of next week, so progress might be slow starting.

Yes, J1.

Then go to the manager and check off the s-meter block.? Enter some numbers in the manager for each step of the smeter you want to use to get it to act the way you want it to.

Yes.? I was able to get a dab of solder and a wire on the positive end of C4.

Bill pick up agc voltage from the positive end of the agc output capacitor. I think it is c4 but I am not looking at the schematic. It is the cap tied to the jumper for setting hold time. Connect this to the purple lead and adjust in the manager

I won't be around this weekend; Doing the CQ WW VHF contest at our remote location. That probably means conditions on 40 meters will be fantastic! Have fun!

BITX QSO Afternoon/Evening, Sunday, July 22, 3PM & 7PM Local Time, 7277 kHz in North America, 7177 kHz elsewhere.

Join us as we make contacts with our BitX-40s or uBitXs or anything else on 7.277 MHz in 40 meters!

This is a worldwide event for BitX40 (and other QRP)?stations starting at 3PM and 7pm in each time zone. To participate, call CQ BitX on Sunday, starting at?3PM and/or 7PM?your local time. The BitX QSO Night continues through the evening and conditions usually improve after sunset, so it is worthwhile to participate later in the evening.

Suggested Best Operating Practices:

Work at QRP power levels unless conditions require more power.
Call and listen for CQ BITX on the hour and every quarter hour.
It is helpful if you call CQ BITX with your callsign, name and location.?
Repeat your callsign a number of times during your CQ BITX and during QSO's.
Start a QSO by confirming the callsign, location, name and signal report of the other operator.
Say the callsign, name and location of the other operator so others can hear.
If the frequency is busy, avoid long conversations.
After your initial QSO is complete, ask if there are any other stations who would like to contact.

Report your QSO's, discuss propagation, noise, signal reports, audio reports, antenna type, etc. in this thread.

This is an undirected, scheduled event.? The BITX QSO Night relies on you to call CQ BITX to initiate contacts with other stations, so warm up that final and transmit a few calls on Sunday evening.? Talk to you then!

I just received my kit in the mail.
I also have a Nextion 3.2e...
do you think I just build it all stock first and then do the mods such as the screen ?

RFI Problem related by routing audio through K3 (uBitx)?

Hi all,

I have just received my uBitx,

From start I have noticed RFI problems while TX'ing and coming audio from the speakers.

I have shorted all wireing to a minimum.

I looked at the schematic, and see audio is routed through relais K3.
Although audio is switched "loose" while in TX, could this be a culprit?

Anyone else experienced this problem?
