Re: RD16HHF1 power curve flattening...some
I too suspect the devices? OP bought.? He could remove them and test with a DMM for the correctness of pinout. ? ?I am currently depending for my RD hhf and hvf devices, on an ebay seller " polida2008" after having suffered fake ones from another seller. ?This seller is now operating with another seller name "?5hk1584
" ?While i have no business deal with this seller(s), I do enjoy genuine devices for my hobby.? Hope it helps. Regards MVS Sarma ?vu3zmv On Wed, Jul 18, 2018 at 9:02 AM, Kevin Rea <reakevinscott@...> wrote: On Thu, Mar 8, 2018 at 05:14 PM, "John" <passionfruit88@...> wrote: |

We have had a couple reports of Q90 frying, but not the mixer.

Perhaps as Gordon notes, these were due to a strong VHF signal. I believe Gordon has suggested in the past the the failure mode might be? due to reverse voltage at the BE junction, not forward current. I have no idea if the back-to-back diodes would significantly contribute to the spurs. Doubt it would cause trouble where I'm at, as there are no strong local broadcasters. I should try it, include a strap to remove the diodes if curious about some new spur. We've got plenty of electrical storms. Jerry ? On Tue, Jul 17, 2018 at 01:28 PM, ajparent1/KB1GMX wrote:

Re: surprising CW sidetone value in uBITX Manager 0.11

BTW, I should mention that the version 1.08 that I installed was compiled from the tip of the master branch of the Git repository as of Sunday.? I also tried the precompiled "HEX" file and it behaves the same way.

surprising CW sidetone value in uBITX Manager 0.11
#ubitx
I upgraded to CEC 1.08 firmware and ran the uBITX Manager Ver 0.11 software.
It shows reasonable values for most fields. However, it shows CW Side tone as?4294967295 Hz ( which interestingly is 0xFFFFFFFF). This is obviously incorrect since it is far beyond human hearing. In fact I'm surprised that side tone frequency in Hz is encoded with 32 bits.? Seems like overkill. When I look for CW side tone from the LCD panel menu it is nowhere to be found.? Hmm... CW speed in uBITX Manager is also shown as 4294967295. When I view CW speed from the LCD panel it is shown as 12 WPM.? This implies that the register value should be 100. This leads me not to trust uBITX Manager.??Should I? Either uBITX Manager is wrong or the LCD panel is wrong or... ? 73 Mike KK7ER |

ok 1 did you add the required resistors to each switch and it has to be a value of 80 or higher and you have to use the ubitx manager to setup the keys. also if you follow his page on setting them up it explains everything

Re: Raduino Pill
Hi Kees!
I stumbled upon this post while doing Google searches on Raduino. It is, of course, about my Raduino Pill board which is a direct replacement for the stock Raduino, but with an STM32F103 processor and much more I/O. I think it hits all the points on your wish list. I released the PCB to fab a few weeks ago and am waiting for boards to arrive from China. Assuming it functions without major rework, I'll post the CAD files and Gerbers on my web site and encourage others to develop for it. I plan to immediately mod the stock uBITX firmware to run on it, then will expand functionality to incorporate the work I've done with TFT displays, hi-res encoder and software S-meter & AGC. I've cleared my bench in anticipation of arrival and am checking the mailbox every day. Joe |

I have Ian's firmware version 1.08 and put three momentary switches with resistors between pins 4 and 5 on the encoder.? The resistor values ar 150K, 220K.,and 470K Ohms.? When I press them and click the button to read the ADC values I get 3, 5, and 6.? Those values are not useful.? I am not sure hat I may be doing wrong.? Can anyone here give me a clue?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýOkay, I just noticed the second photo and it does look like you have the source and drains swapped. ?Might there be a short between them. ?I¡¯d check out each transistor for a short using a ohmmeter. ?With the power cable to the board disconnected you should see an open circuit.Clark Martin KK6ISP

Re: The new uBITX boards are here
I made the mod to my V3 board to change C81 (near Q90) from 0.1 uF to 470pF,? this was to get more even output power across the bands as suggested by
Farhan.? After doing this my output dropped to about 500 mW !? I was worried that I might have toasted Q90 (literally) in the process so I went back to 0.1 uF for C81 and I am now back at the previous power levels, so obviously Q90 is still fine.?? After looking at the schematic again, it occurred to me that I either installed the wrong value cap at C81 or perhaps making this change necessitates re-adjusting the trimmer pot RV1 ?? ?Can anyone who has successfully made this mod to their v3 board tell me if this is the case?? Thanks? Michael VE3WMB? |

I have an Unbuilt UBITX Ver 4 with matching Blue Cabinet for sale.? I want $180 shipped via Priority Mail. Text me 619 518 2547 I just am not motivated to build another superheterdyne transceiver. Not since I discovered SDR direct Sampling.

Re: RD16HHF1 power curve flattening...some
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýDid you reroute the pins on the RD16HHF!, the are in a different arrangement than the IRF510. ?The IRF510 is GDS, the?RD16HHF1 is GSD. ?Swapping the source and drain will blow the fuse like that. Clark Martin KK6ISP
