Re: PiZeroW Controlling a uBitx
Jack Purdum
Anyone thought about using a PiZeroW (or even a regular RPi) for controlling a uBitx? Yes. The problem we're running into is that there is nowhere the depth of support libraries for the graphics displays, at least, we haven't seen them. The spectrum display is especially attractive since the RP has a fast processor and a lot of memory.? I'm sure there are FFT (and other) support libraries out there, I just haven't found them yet. I thought to myself, while pondering my design decisions, "Hey, a PiZeroW is $10.? A Teensy3.2 is $20..."? Looking quickly at the pinout, it has spi and i2c, and a few GPIO's.? I don't have any experience programming the raspberry pis, but adding an i2s audio dac (or two) could easily do DSP audio, spectrum display, etc... I have my RpiZeroW hooked up to a 3.5" TFT touchscreen display I got off amazon... () Mostly just curious.? Doubt I'll change directions with my top mod PCB, but it certainly could be an interesting option (The RpiZeroW consumes ~250mA @ 5V as I recall) Martin Held - AE7EU ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If there aren't any questions, then what is there to learn? |

It look like my nano is dead.
i swapee lcd and it seems ok on that I have ordered another one. I see several ino files. Each one seems to do Something specific? do the have to all have to be flashed ? Is there a special order? I will have a blank nano tomorrow... thank you! |

If they all showed as being a mosfet, they are working.? It would show something else, otherwise. What is the gate voltage, when transmitting?? It should be between 2 & 4 vdc. I doubt anyone is making a joke about this.? You have to do some detective work.? We do not have access to the board.? Is there someone you know, locally, that can help you troubleshoot?? Have you traced the rf signal in the output stages to see where the signal stops?? It was suggested that you build a rf probe, have you done that?? It will help, immensely. This isn't something we are going to be able to say, " oh that is such & such part.? Replace that.."? you will have to dig in.? This is not a terribly complex radio.? It is easily fixable.? It was working, but it let out some smoke.? In what area did this happen?? Have you looked at the parts and traces in that area? We are here to help, but we need you to be thorough and we need as much info as you can provide. Marco - KG5PRT? Re: Sotabeams CW filter problem
I tried the filter outboard on the bench and it was fine.
Recently I was poking around with the power on and I discovered that touching ground to the filter affected the noise. Although the ground was adequate to power the filter, it apparently failed to prevent noise. The 3.8 kHz and 7.8 kHz tones disappeared when the ground to the filter board was improved. ????? Bob?? i guess i ruined the arduino nano board a d maybe something else I see that arduino power led is fine how can i check that it is still alive? Mabe i just broke something in the board atached to it |

Using shielded wires to/from the volume pot also helped a lot in my case. But I must confess I never got rid of the clicks completely.
