Would this be the one at Mouser?

And, what's the best source for weighted knobs for this?

Re: uBitx receive working...transmit debugging help needed

Make sure you have the black wire on the antenna connected to ground and NOT the brown one.? Also make sure that the RF output plug is wired properly so that the black wire actually does go to the ground side of the header plug.

Re: Auto tuner update

Bill, Before you get too invested in small toroids consider that the tuner must deal with higher currents than an LPF. Saturation results from current, not power. 100 watts and high impedance ratios requires larger cores. Best to do the math before ordering. 73, ND6T

Are the relays working? Try a different band

Don't transmit anymore till you find the fault.

Could be the output relay K3.

That's interesting. If it works well as you've configured it, it could be helpful for many builders.

BITX QSO Afternoon/Night, Sunday, January 14, 3PM/7PM Local Time, 7277 kHz in North America, 7177 kHz elsewhere

John P

BITX QSO Afternoon/Evening, Sunday, January 14, 3PM & 7PM Local Time, 7277 kHz in North America, 7177 kHz elsewhere.

There was much discussion last week about trying to have a daytime schedule as 40 meters has been awful after dark for the last couple of months. I will plan to be on at both 3PM and 7PM EST (2000Z & 0000Z). I hope others can join me!

Join us as we make contacts from BITX40 to BITX40 on 7.277 MHz in 40 meters!

This is a worldwide event for BITX40 stations starting at 7pm in each time zone. To participate, call CQ BITX on Sunday, starting at?3PM and/or 7PM?your local time. The BITX QSO Night continues through the evening and conditions usually improve after sunset, so it is worthwhile to participate later in the evening.

Suggested Best Operating Practices:

Work at QRP power levels unless conditions require more power.
Call and listen for CQ BITX on the hour and every quarter hour.
It is helpful if you call CQ BITX with your callsign, name and location.?
Repeat your callsign a number of times during your CQ BITX and during QSO's.
Start a QSO by confirming the callsign, location, name and signal report of the other operator.
Say the callsign, name and location of the other operator so others can hear.
If the frequency is busy, avoid long conversations.
After your initial QSO is complete, ask if there are any other stations who would like to contact.

Report your QSO's, discuss propagation, noise, signal reports, audio reports, antenna type, etc. in this thread.

This is an undirected, scheduled event.? The BITX QSO Night relies on you to call CQ BITX to initiate contacts with other stations, so warm up that final and transmit a few calls on Sunday evening.? Talk to you then!

Re: Micro-BITX ... Lost in post ? Possibly

Hi Alan, this morning i changed the remote cabling to run all the Oscillators in RG174 coax cable. See PIc, i should shorten the inners a bit. Nothing really obvious has changed except some encoder tuning 'clicks' are no longer audible.

My case is height challenged in addition, at only 54mm, so remoting the LCD was not possible.

Since this is my first 'BITX" I am not really sure of what to expect. I listened on 80M last night and lots of nice signals received on the band. Yet to try Transmit though.

Re: Micro-BITX ... Lost in post ? Possibly

Glenn,

Interesting to see that you have mounted the Raduino remotely from the main pcb. Having read a number of posts suggesting that isn't I good idea, I'm curious how it's working.

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive (preordered) and, like you, have access to cases which aren't wide enough. My plan was to leave the Raduino in place and move the display as others have done.

Regards

Alan
