uBitX PA @ 24V? #ubitx

Ashhar, Sarma, Raj, other? Is it feasible to drive the uBitX PAs at 24V, or is that asking for trouble? Apologies if this has already been covered; please point me to the thread. Thanks, Craig w9ctw

Re: Looking forward to a build

Well done on getting your licence!?

I started with the BITX40, it's an amazing bit of kit and was perfect for my budget. I like how well it's supported too and you can go very far adding to the bare bones kit.?

I've had that now for about 6 months or so and haven't tired with it tinkering. I have just ordered a uBITX and it looks as if postage is after the 25th now, I'm happy to wait though!

I'd say start with the single band board and there's no such thing as too many radios anyway!!

Mornin' Joel:

Well, I listened on 80M and things were jumping. I don't have an antenna for 80M so I can't attest to that, but you're going to love this radio. I got the rig as a Beta tester for Ashhar, but it did come DHL. I've never had a problem with them.

Hi Jack, have you tried 75/80 meters? I'm hoping it's sensitive there as I want to use it by my bedside at night. Also, you must have chose the DHL shipping option, In hindsight I wish I had done that, I have had so many bad experiences with DHL I just decided not to ship that way:-( Twice they have lost my packages in Germany.

Ebay 282363911577 50ohm? #parts #w8tee

I already have the parts to build one of K4EAA / W8TEE¡¯s dummy load and power-to-voltage converters, but this is tempting as an even lower-cost option. What do you all think? Grease and heat sink? Oil bath?

Re: AGC #ubitx

My guess:

Some people don't want it, and many will want to do different implementations.? If you search this forum for AGC you'll find lots of ideas for both RX and TX processing.

What was the reason, that AGC has been excluded from final "factory" version of uBITX?

There is enough room on PCB and cost of parts is marginal.

I'm using a Baofeng on my bitx40, I need a different option on my ubitx as the two independent jacks (3.5 and 2.5mm, a precise distance apart) sharing wires between mic, speaker, and PTT is making soldering a gigantic pain.?

Single panel mount RG45s are available in female to female, or buy a female to male, cut off the connector and you have 1' leads to play with for $6?on Prime. The female to male mount from inside the case, usually sold for Ethernet applications.?

The $20?"quality" Baofeng mic and two $8?jacks vs $35?Kenwood mic and $6?Ethernet jack, I hope the Kenwood is a viable option.?

You would need an RG45 case mount female connector and would also have to wire it for ptt/mic etc in the case. Just me but I wouldn't use it for the bitx.

BITX40 - frequency spectrum - Raduino irradiation - intermodulation products - #bitx40help

Hello everybody,

while checking the ouput-signal of my BITX40, I found some nastygram signals in the frequency spectrum.

Interestingly the emission is at the begining and at the end of 40 m Band nearly clean, respectively the distance to the wanted signal is > 40dBm? - but? abt. +/- 70 kHz around 7.100 kHz.
I replaced the DDS-Wire with RG-174 Coax but without results.

Do any of you have a solution ?

Yes, that is the Banggood case.? I ordered four to use for a couple of projects.

Re: Holy fast delivery Batman!

How do you find out when/if it shipped?

Re: It's alive!

I have not tried it on 80M, but might try that this weekend. If I do, I'll get back in touch with you.

It did come DHL, but I didn't order it. Ashhar sent me a Beta copy, I guess, and I'm writing a "first peek" review of it.

Question: How do I interpret the serial number on the ?BITX??

It appears that it has 3 segments: Alpha/Numeric/alpha ?( F / 142 / h ) ?

Re: 160m on ubitx??

Good point for me Bill. Not much heard here in suburban Melb with noise everywhere and no room for a decent receive antenna - other than the local am nets

Maybe a separate rig required for me but thought it worth asking as others may benefit more.
