Re: low output power
hi!
Raj, Q7 collector has 180mVpp, just a few millivolts on Q8 and Q9 -all bias voltages are ok Initially I suspected Q8 since I can only measure a few millivolts on its Base and emitter but if I short R81 I got 1Vpp at Q7 collector and the output goes to 3W (even without speaking to the mic) and the receive goes louder |
Re: low output power
Correction 7 watt output without modulation On Mon, Aug 21, 2017 at 2:07 PM, Soundararajan Ra. <vu2rjw@...> wrote:

Re: low output power
Connect a 10k resistor on c107 capacitor and feed 9 v dc so that carrier leakage will happened and works in cw mode .? If the stages ?Q4,5,6,13,14 and 15 are ok when pressing PTT with speaking in the mic ?u will be getting 7 w CW output . By this way u identify the problem. Re: Rotary Encoder - Nut size?
I feel that we can mount it using the two holes on the pcb with suitable spacers. ?However one could try with plastic shft? volume control? mounting screws. On Mon, Aug 21, 2017 at 1:34 PM, Michael Hagen <motdog@...> wrote:

Did you measure the Q7 collector signal level ?

开云体育On mine,? OD is 6.75 mm.? Maybe 0.5 mm thread pitch? And yep, the picture shows NO Nut!? Nuts...to
them. On 8/20/2017 7:44 PM, John P wrote:

Re: low output power
Remove C91 and C92 as combined they add a capacitance load of 500 pf across the Raduino output

and will cause a reduction of amplitude. Raj I already adjusted the output to 8mA for USB/LSB, is there any other way to increase the output? |
Re: low output power
hello friends!
Just an update I did Jerry's tip of generating 7.150mhz at clk0 injected it at Q13 and I got almost 10w on dummy load (thanks Jerry/KE7ER!) It seems the TX amp section (Q13-Q15) is working ok Is the arduino's output at 40mVpp on LSB normal? and when I switch to USB i got no output I already adjusted the output to 8mA for USB/LSB, is there any other way to increase the output?? thanks and 73! jonathan/DV2NAH |
First BITX to BITX contact...
I heard Tom VE3THR calling CQ on 7277 KHz at about
02:45 UTC... 19:45 Pacific / 22:45 Eastern. I gave Tom a shout with a 100W rig and made contact and then changed over to my BITX40. While I have made perhaps a dozen or so contacts with the radio before (San Diego 1900 km was my best DX previously) and I have made contact with BITX radios on the other end a couple of times, this was my very first BITX to BITX contact! Needless to say, I was quite excited with this 3473 km QSO. I was copying Tom quite easily most of time and gave him a 3x3, but going by the 2x2 that he gave me and the number of times I gave my call sign before making it a confirmed contact, I don't think he was copying me as well as I was copying him. I don't think we could have exchanged much than the signal reports and call signs, but VE3THR is in the log! Thanks Tom for being my first BITX to BITX contact! -- 73 Keith VE7GDH CN88 |

开云体育I'm guessing it was WB5YYM that called me. QRM and weak signal came in strong enough to get Arkansasonly. I did hear part of the call sign. Later I heard both W1LY and VE3THR, will try again later. Ed W0OIC On 8/20/2017 4:43 PM, RCC WB5YYM wrote:

OK Paul...just got your call and then QSB wiped you out. TNX for 5x5 you also were 5x5 then 0x1...got you in the log qso # 7
Had same trble with W1LY...5x5 then gone! ?very weird conditions tonight. also worked KB0OVD Sean tonight. haven't heard anybody else...got on about 0030 hrs tonight |

W1LY was strong for quite a while and I can still here him. Heard W0OIC and the station he talked to for quite a bit. Both strong. ?VE3THR is starting to come through the noise now. Hearing several people tonight.?
