I thought you should know about this.

I've been waiting for the socketed wires to connect to the board, they arrived this morning. I had your Analyser code installed in the Arduino, hooked up the rotary encoder as expected if worked OK. ?When I Installed the B40 1.05 code the encoder dosen't operate correctly, looking a both codes different pins are defined in V1.05. ?When I look back at your earlier versions of the B40 codes they are the same as in the Analyser. ?Redefining the pins sorts it out.

I use the acrylic cases to show potential hams that a good rig can be built and doesn't have to be expensive. Alas, my rig now looks like an autopsy on my bench...but I'm getting there.

I ended up using an ABS enclosure for ease of drilling, cutting, and fitting. The enclosure is large enough to install multiple mods including room on the front panel for additional controls. This is revision one and I have several changes that I intend to make in the short term, first of which is a 90 degree mini-USB cable to allow access to the Raduino without opening the box.

I added a 10 turn pot, a "normal size" audio taper pot, and a separate PA power jack. I used a Baofeng compatible microphone and hacked the cable to break out the PTT and mic into separate inputs. I added some labels, but I'm going to resize/rework those at some point. The front panel has a power on/off toggle and a LOW/OFF/HIGH PA toggle. The back of the case was cut out to allow for a larger heatsink.

Ben:

You could run the mcufriend library example named LCD_ID_readreg.ino which will tell you the ID of the graphics chip. You could then go into setup() and look at the switch/case block to see if your ID is there. It is possible that other chip ID's will work with the code, but may need some "tweaking". For example, one chip reversed the coordinate system so the display was reversed from other chips. That's really not a problem, it just meant mounting the PCB "upside-down". Also, I've looked back through my orders and I do not see one for you. When did you order the PCB?

The audio tone is not so tinny after the mod on my board. Unfortunately I had to get back to the farm
immediately and I will be back on 7th.

No lab here, so I am curious!!

Hi Chris and friends,

you may look at the following file where I suggest an automatic PTT associated to the mike PTT valid for rag chewers. It is suggested for the BITX-40 but I have it working on my IC751 since the last century.
