Re: Floor noise?
Here are some very basic things to check, sorry if they are too simple, I don't mean to insult: Try different times of day/night. You have to tune to the exact frequency or the voices will be

Re: 10 turn pot $1 to way too much
I bought a few of these, installed one and initially it had some static but now is clean and turns very easily.

Floor noise?
Perhaps not a bitx question so much as a n00b ham question, but this is home so here I'll ask. I finally have my bitx working-ish. I can rx (barely) and when I tx I get measurable output to the

Re: doTuning() mod, utility, vanity
Speaking of memory issues, one might think it was time to move to a ARM Feather -- same small form factor, 32 bit CPU and lots Flash/RAM. Works with the Arduino IDE (as do several other small form

Re: 10 turn pot $1 to way too much
If the A/D converter is optimized for analog signals with an output impedance of 10k or less would we not be better off with a 10k or less pot rather than a 100k pot? Willy W1ly

Re: doTuning() mod, utility, vanity
Meanwhile I managed to free up some space by removing some other less useful stuff, and so I could include your extra printLine2 commands. Thanks for sharing your idea! Will be included in the next

Re: doTuning() mod, utility, vanity
This is a mod that an individual could add.??? It was intended as a way that the user could customize the radio. If memory is a problem, then perhaps have multiple versions, for example,? I

Re: Source of LDR required.
I bet those 40k-400k LDR could work too... too much resistance?, then put the led further away, cover it with something, paint it, place some thin film between the two, or even WAY better use a bigger

Hi all, I ordered a LIPO battery from evilbay for a really good price, half expecting it to never arrive... But it did, I The page said about 3 amps at 12v, I plan to use this for SOTA but I was a

Re: 10 turn pot $1 to way too much
I had mine from Conrad, price was about 10 euro at the time. Yes it's more expensive but i.m.o. it's definitely worth the money. Try a Mexican first and then a Vishay and you'll understand. Try

Re: 10 turn pot $1 to way too much
I first had a cheap BOURNS pot, it worked OK but requires more "torque" to spin the shaft. Then I switched to a wirewound VISHAY pot, it's more expensive but it's definitely worth the money! The

In trying to figure out what you guys were referring to I did some digging and the one thing I did find was a blog post saying that a 40k-400k LDR that he had on hand didn't work. But one that went

Also note that Peter encased the LED and LDR in electrical tape before he actually used it. I think shrink tubing would also work. I, too, believe any LDR would work. Jack, W8TEE To: [email protected]

Re: doTuning() mod, utility, vanity
All: In Allard's defense, it's even worse than he's letting on. Using 87% of the Flash memory is running on the edge, but is probably okay. The really scary statistic is the 74% on the SRAM memory.

Re: Source of LDR required.
I'd say just about any LDR will work, go ahead and try that circuit using what you have at hand, experiment, be safe, and overall, have fun! 73 Dan HK4DEI
