Re: Raduino_v1.12 released
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI just used the following: 40 Pin 2.54mm Single Row Pin Header Strip You can simply break off the number you need. I then use female to female connectors. Cut off the end you need to solder to a pot or a switch. A pack of female to female jumpers is cheaper than hookup wire. Premium Jumper Wires Female / Female 300mm Pack of 40. ? v/r Fred W4JLE

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýRecheck your connections. A ten turn pot has the most rearward connection as the wiper. In this case the violet wire goes to the most rearward and the yellow and green to the two pins closet to the front. ? v/r Fred W4JLE ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Sasi Nayar ? Hi all Finally got around?finishing my BITX40 Ver3?yesterday. It passed the smoke test. Eveything seems to be OK except for the tuning. It is locked on 6.9MHz. I am using a 10T, 100K precision pot for tuning with the default pre-loaded sketch. I searched the archives and found some mention about this issue being attributed to the faulty A7 pin on? the Raduino. I cannot seem to find this message when I searched again. Any help in diagnosing / troubleshooting the issue will be appreciated. 73 Sasi VK5SN |

pin A0 is used for the PTT sense line. Everything else in your mail is correct. See full description at 73, Allard PE1NWL On Sun, May 21, 2017 19:50, terryhugheskirkcudbright via Groups.Io wrote:

Re: New BITX40 owner, and a few issues
Hi guys, I'm back with an update on my BITX40 - ongoing - project. This time I made a video showing the latest mods I made to the transceiver?(more on that on the video description), and how it sound like on RX. So, for you guys who want to have a look, here it is. I just want to mention, it was connected to an external speaker until I switched to the tiny internal one at 2:05. You will hear the difference. --- 73 from Reunion Island Etienne |
Re: Raduino_v1.12 released
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI installed a row of header pins on mine. That allows the use of DuPont connectors to wire things up. The best and cheapest place to buy the connectors, header strips etc. is It is fun to fill a bag with parts and have a bill of $10.00. As an example, I was looking for some silicon insulators for the 510 final. EBay found some folks selling them from $1.41 to $8.00 for a package of 5. Taydaeelectronics had them for $.06 each. ? v/r Fred W4JLE ? ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of philip yates ? Re: BITX Ver3 tuning issues
Can you put the original 10K back in the circuit (maybe you did that already) I had a 10k t10 wired up wrong and of course I couldn't tune. wired correctly No Problem since. On Sun, May 21, 2017 at 10:27 AM, Jerry Gaffke via Groups.Io <jgaffke@...> wrote:

Re: BITX Ver3 tuning issues
Some may have been confused by pinout on the 10-turn pots. On 270-degree pots the wiper is the center connection, but on many 10-turn pots the wiper is the terminal furthest from the mounting nut and tuning knob. _._ On Sun, May 21, 2017 at 11:38 AM, ac2pl via Groups.Io <jeffbonanno@...> wrote: i had a similar issue, tested raduino with stock pot, worked fine. put 10 turn 10k pot in (tested good with vom) frequency went all the way up and would not respond to adjustment. swapped stock back in, worked fine. used different 10 turn 10k pot, worked fine. i triple checked wiring and soldering, so must be something off with that pot. i advise testing the board with the stock 1 turn pot before getting into it with the nano. |

Re: BITX Ver3 tuning issues
The pot does not have to be linear if you find the ADC input reading at half rotation and then modify that setting in the sketch.? Tuning rate with a tapered pot may be a bit faster in one direction versus the other one but a few minutes with the system and your mind will adjust for that. _._ On Sun, May 21, 2017 at 11:29 AM, Allard PE1NWL <pe1nwl@...> wrote: 100K is fine too. |

Re: Scan feature, need coding help
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýA pair of 5K resistors in series between ground and +Vcc would set the Center rotation woltage. ?Then use a larger resistor through each switch to pull that center voltage up or down. ?Problem with this is that you would have only one tuning speed. Another test on the Nano is to try one of the sample programs that is shipped with the IDE. A good one that has visual feedback is Blink (File --> Examples --> 01.Basics --> Blink). After loading, it should blink the on-board LED at a one second pace. As to static discharge and the Nano, I've not had a problem with that. Of course, my shack is in the basement and I could rub two cats together and not get a spark. Still, I've never had a club member have a static issue, either. Or perhaps just a static discharge. ? Here's the old post: ?/g/BITX20/message/20876 I'd check if the voltage into the Nano goes from 0 to 5 volts as you turn the pot before doing anything else.
