Dear Farhan and all the Bitx40 team,
Bitx40 #861 arrived this morning, hand delivered to my front door.
The Bitx40 is beautifully packed.
I will let you know how the testing and integration goes.

I did that also today and noticed no affect at all. I think the changes need to be made further up the audio chain before it gets to the amp. I just have too many irons in the fire to try anything, except I do check into a Net everyday with it. Joel Caulkins KB6QVI

I tried the 1nf cap and 10k resistor mod on pins 1/5 and no go. Has no affect on the audio. I'll give the 220 ufd change.

Hi!
While doing these mods try a 1nf cap in series with 10k resistor between pin 1 and 5 this also helps with the audio.

Thanks Joel.
I removed the cap at Pin1 & 8 long ago and that helped a lot. I'll try the 470 later today.

I have another, just arrived, Bitx 40.? Hooked it up and works as it should, at least for receive.?
#67, the first, cannot hear a signal generator putting out 0 dBm? signal.? Running it on a 12 volt battery eliminated a lot of hash.
So I at least know the signal is not making it very far.

Do you have a nice strong power source? Like all high-gain LM386 circuits, the audio amp is prone to becoming an oscillator when starved of sufficient power.

You may also be able to drape it over the antenna connector. Try that first without the antenna connected.

PA Transformers for Bitx40
The photo on 'hfsigs' shows PA Transformers for Bitx40 made from toroid cores, but the schematics shows some 6 terminal TV balun binocular or something else - I do not know. Could Farhan or someone else please give inductance values and bifilar turns for FT37-43 for the 3 stage transmission line transformers for BITX40 PA. Thank you Roy

Re: Ebay Store Kits Out Of Stock?
I have a BITX 20m v.3 PA PCB from the ebay shop of Sunil VU3SUA. It has two amplifier stages and two transformers. The description says it can be modified for 40m. But it does not say how.
How many bifilar turns on FT37-43 should I use for the driver and final transformers when I build for 40 meter / 7mHz?
Thank you. Roy
