If you need the leaded 47u choke then i can ship it to you few pcs for free.
Let me know. Petr -P #5 |

loopMasta,
If you are an Amazon customer, these should work and are lower in total cost than Mouser. You only need one.? One device at Mouser is $0.42 in stock, and then there is the $7 shipping cost. Your costs could be different.? I did not try DigiKey. 73 Evan AC9TU |

Hi Ashhar,
1. If you increase the rf gain to 100, can you see the noise grass on the waterfall? If yes, then the code board is working fine.Yes I can see noise in the waterfall The scope at C7 shows 40mHz at 1.9 Vpp, C31 shows 47mHz at 6.7 Vpp Touching C80 or C94 with an improvised antenna shows an increase in noise level and I could ( for the first time :-) ) barely hear a station in the background. Touching C211 has a similar effect. Did you read the previous conversation I had with Evan Hand and Steve Beckman? It seems as if L27 is not working. Thanks a lot for your help. |

Take it apart make sure the dc is getting through the on off and to the board, you can see the wires

Sorry for being erratic on this thread. Tune to 7 Mhz where the band noise is high before you do these tests. 1. If you increase the rf gain to 100, can you see the noise grass on the waterfall? If yes, then the code board is working fine. 2. Next we need to know if the clocks are working. Check the outputs on C31 and C7. C7 should show 40 or so. At 7 mhz band, c3 C31 should show 47 mhz. The C31 output should be around 3v peak to peak, C7 should be lower, around 1.2v. 3. Take a wire connected to the antenna and touch it to C80 (not the ground side). Does the receiver wake up? Now move to C94, is the signal still there? Lets see the results of these three tests. - f On Wed, May 31, 2023, 4:46 AM Evan Hand <elhandjr@...> wrote: LoopMasta, |

LoopMasta,
There is nothing special about the inductor.? Its sole purpose is to block RF and pass DC.? There could be an issue with self-oscillation, but not likely.? The two most important specifications are the inductance and the current capability.? It must carry 14 volts (worst case)/(470/3) ohms = 90 ma.? There are 3 470 ohm resistors in parallel. I do not have a parts list for the radio.? I also do not have a v2 to look for the part. Is L27 SMD or a leaded device? 73 Evan AC9TU |

Evan,
the receiver never worked. It was deaf from day one. I double checked the solder connections to and from L27 and the board traces to Q28 / D30 / D31 and everything looks good. I think I'll have to replace L27. Do you know if this is a special 47uH 5% inductor? Or is there a parts list somewhere where I can lookup the specs of L27? Thx |
Re: Help needed to fix my sBitxv2 RX

LoopMasta,
Did the receiver ever work??? It would take a relatively high current to burn out the inductor that would take out Q28.? More likely, it is a defect in the original part if the inductor failed open. I would also check the solder connections for L27 and the board traces.? It could be that the inductor is OK, and there is a board problem in that area. Try to measure the resistance across L27 from one of the diodes to the drain of Q28 and then on the leads of the inductor if you can get to them. 73 Evan AC9TU |

Based on this data, I would verify that the voltages on both sides of L27 are the same.? I believe that L27 is your problem.Evan, thanks for helping me. You are right about L27. I have 0v on L27 and drain of Q28 and 12v on L27 and D30 / D31. L27 has no continuity. I didn't catch that info on you previous post. Would you recommend to replace L27 or do you think that something else might have caused this problem and will blow L27 again? 73 |
Re: What is the actual status of the sBitx V2
Peter,
With machine drilling, it is possible to drill precisely so that the threaded nut gets between the heat sinks. When I drilled it with a hand drill, I can see on the back that one of them hit the rib, while the other is between the ribs. If you plan to copy it, it can be done in a machine vise with fine adjustments. -- Gyula HA3HZ |
Re: sBITx V2 function switch/knob

The function knob changes the selected control. When the function knob is pressed, it jumps the selection back to audio volume control as that is the most frequently used control. - f On Tue, May 30, 2023, 5:57 PM Pete <pete4330@...> wrote: I am unable to find a description of what the "function" knob? |

sBITx V2 function switch/knob
#sbitx_v2
I am unable to find a description of what the "function" knob?
does when it is pushed. I did notice that if I used a mouse to change the RF gain that the function knob would only change the RF gain unless I pushed the knob in, same for volume and other controls. Does pushing in on the knob have any functions? Pete KB8EMD |

Not without fiddling with the html. Try editing the height on lines 237 and 239 of index.html. - f On Tue, May 30, 2023, 5:23 PM Bill <billjhs@...> wrote: Hello all....is the panadapter/waterfall size changeable...ie can you make it more panadapter and less waterfall??? |

Farhan,
can you share some pics of final modification solution of heatsink mounting to have the threaded insert on the opposite side of the heatsink so that it is pulled in against the heatsink when the clamp screws are tightened, please? Many thanks, -P #5 |
