I searched here and did find a spot mod for CW ......
I'm just wondering if there is a spot function standard on the v6?
I do have the latest CEC sketch uploaded and it's working fine.

yes, that's the thread I was talking about.
You're right, I completly forgot about the burnt teensies and the serial trouble. That was quite an expensive and challenging adventure.
Using a V6 uBitx with the stock firmware is an undiscovered country, as you will have to modify the code on your own.
The stock firmware does include CAT control by now, so generally you can do it. However since I used KD8CECs software,
I don't know where and how you would have to change the stock code.
If you'll put in a 20x4 display or a nextion, you can just copy what I did and it should work.
I did shield the HF bridge, but I never tested it unshielded. So I cannot say if it really is necessary. I just used some double-sided
copper PCBs to built a wall/box in the case
19'' for portable is quite big. Please do share a photo when finished. I wish I had acces to such machines.

I haven't been able to get my ubitx 6.2 with Reed's FW working with
WSJT-x v2.2.1, though
it does work with FT-817 Commander. ? I haven't tried UBITX manager.
I started setting up a
serial protocol analyzer, but then the day job wanted attention.?
Maybe in another week or
two I'll have time to dig back into it.
I'd use FT-817 Commander to verify your port settings are correct
before digging deeper.
If you can't get that working, maybe it's driver problems with the
serial port pr a bad USB cable.
There are posts in the archives that a web search should turn up.

I have ver3. I get garbled audio even after aligning the BFO. There is also a -ve frequency offset of 2khz. Any inputs as to how I could correct it.

Hi,
yes I confirm/agree the effectiveness of the KD8CEC Memory Manager to select transmit offset according to sidetone frequency (drop me a message if you need more infos).
And I also had exactly the same problem (IF shift needed for listening correctly) when I received my V3 :
it was actually a BFO misalignment.

I¡¯m glad I asked as I¡¯d have probably spent ?300 on busting teensy before getting anything to work.
I¡¯m going to be using v6 - do you think that will be an issue with the included display and not using the nextion ?
I¡¯d be happy with two 4x20 LC to be fair - I just want the controller to follow the Raduino and hopefully with enough ferrite choke and low noise motors it will be ok.? Is it advisable to shield the rf swr/pwr BRIDGE I have for controller with extra shielding from Raduino and what material should?I use?
Hopefully my radio club opens soon as I think I¡¯ll get out of depth pretty quickly when having to diagnose TTL and such like as I have limited access to test equipment.
Anyway the dream continues and I¡¯m sure I¡¯ll make it.? I want to put both projects in 19¡± for portable use and laser cut the front panel - I work in schools and have three laser machines at my disposal including three makerbots for 3D print- which I¡¯ve used to make the magnetic loop controller mounts.
I don¡¯t actually plan on transmitting with this until filtering and harmonics have been qualified and I have my next license level - which I am hoping to take once lockdown ends.

You can find the details somewhere in this group, I can't look it up at the moment.
I have not yet seen Lofthurs controller with a TFT yet, I was using the 4x20 LC-Display and a Nextion on the uBitx.

I am not familiar with the larc version software.? I am pretty sure that it will not work with the KD8CEC Memory Manager, though it does appear to have a CAT routine.? A quick look at the code also suggests that the menu functions are the same, so the standard v3 or v4 process should work.
1 - Set the BFO first to be able to receive an AM signal.
2 - Calibrate the frequency displayed
3 - Reset the BFO
Setting the BFO and the Calibration should be a menu item that comes up after you turn on the settings option in the menu system.? For each of the 3 calibration steps, you will need to perform the following:
a - Press the encoder button to enter the menu
b - Rotate the encoder to get to the settings selection
c - Press the encoder. The screen will go back to the frequency display.
d - Press the encoder again to enter the expanded menu selections
e - Select either the BFO or Calibration option depending on which step in the process you are on.
f - Perform the process
g - Press the PTT to save the value
h - Wait 15 seconds for the data to be written to the EEPROM
i - Turn off the rig and then turn it back on to test the new setting.
For the BFO setting, I use the BFO Tuning Aid from Ashhar Farhan:
The steps are explained in the video for the v6, just remember that the controls are different, The steps, how to use the tools, and results should be the same:
The way that I would approach getting the rig updated would be to first get it working as it is, doing the calibrations and verifying that all is working.? I would then go to the KD8CEC firmware (software) using the same Nano, as that is where the calibrations are stored.? If you want to save the current Nano as is, then you will need to redo the calibration steps on the new Nano to get it aligned correctly.? The last thing would be to upgrade the display.
I hope the above is clear enough to get you going in the correct direction.

I might try to use the existing Keyer plug to see if this would work, but the RigPi is not CAT control setup for uBitX so can't CAT connect naticely to RigPi will try and emulate the Yaesu 817 CAT controls using the USB interface and see if I can get this working.? I would like to leave this radio on as a full time digital transceiver.
