AGC on Sunil's Nextion case info

I am struggling to figure out how to interface the AGC board that came with Sunil's uBitx/Nextion case to a V4 uBitx board. I have the S meter all hooked up and calibrated per the instructions that came on the CD with the case, that is responding just like the instructions say, setting the upper and lower limits of the meter. The part I can't understand is where the first IF audio plugs into the AGC board and how the audio gets back to the audio output. Man am I confused. Has anyone got this working? Care to share how you did it?

Right now, like most figures, those are the modeled values. We plan on doing our own field tests when we have the second version built.

If you have an alternative model, we'd be interested in knowing about it. We are in the process of finding out which tests make sense and which are really little more than intellectual smoke. Truthfully, we may never know the difference.

Re: Ubitx (2.0) - Screen too bright - cannot see when seeing straight

Replace 1 resistor. 470 ohms is a good choice. Saves a bit of current, makes the display last longer, less heat. Here's the link to how and where: http://www.nd6t.com/bitx/Backlight dimming
I do this on all of my displays.

Re: Nextion 5/Enhanced for KD8CEC 1.2?

Joe,

Pretty much have the SA screen. Figured out the artifact issue when the slider is used. Going to make the slider a little larger since we have the room. Some more tidying up and then back to the home screen.

Any other areas that you know needs more work? Otherwise I will go and test in parallel....

We are also trying to assess other factors, too, such as a counterpoise and its affect on performance. We may find that these "other factors" play no significant role in the antenna's performance. Still, learning that something doesn't matter is as helpful as learning what does matter.

Re: Ubitx (2.0) - Screen too bright - cannot see when seeing straight

In addition to the contrast control (Pin-3 on the LCD) you can add a resistor in series
with power to the backlight diode.? Resistor value can be determined by trying different
values until it is right (start with 500 ohms to 1K ohms).?

While not implemented in the raduino, it should be possible to add a bit of code to
use the PWM output driving a transistor to control backlight current.? Two code sections
would be needed; one for the backlight PWM, and one for user input to control the
PWM ON/OFF ratio.?

Thank you Skip.

I will let you know this evening.? Much appreciated.?

Fingers crossed on the mic side;? ?I used the banggood box to put it in. Cutting etc took most of the hours; the rest was fairly straightforward.? Howard had sent one inductor to raise the output power which I will try once everything work on TX side.

Baofeng has the 2 port connector; i will cut the speaker one out and just use the mic socket.
