Re: Difference between 2N2222A and PN2222A

Hi Jon,
Looking at a few datasheets, I don't see any reason why you couldn't use them.? All the specifications are pretty much the same except for the thermal resistance of the package; and then the pn2222a was superior there even (I would have thought the opposite). 73, Mark. |
Re: Getting ready to build my ubitx v5, tomorrow.
Hey! Cool to hear it!
So, I just got mine working today after a week of it being deaf as a post. It turns out if you install the CEC firmware for the old v4 board, it activates the low pass filters at the wrong time or something and just completely kills all your input. At the same time, the old BFO frequency won't work for the new board and all your SSB output will get swallowed up by the crystal filter. KD8CEC has a version of the Nextion-enabled firmware for the v5 board. Once I installed it and made sure my BFO frequency was right, I started hearing all those beautiful little warbles at 7.074.? Difference between 2N2222A and PN2222A

Hi,
2N2222A are 6x more expensive than PN2222A. Is there some special reason the 2N2222A is specified to replace 2N3904s? Please advise soonest. Jon S |
Re: NEED HELP
I admit building into that case takes some thought in merging instructions.? check the ubitx.com website for useful info, more than I had. This URL is hosted by Sunil the case builder. Many little things to figure out, pretend this is more homebrew than kit. You have options but take time to figure Sunil's intent. Even getting the raduino cables correct may require study of pictures.

?BITX V5 Board compatible with JackAL
Jack Purdum
All: Al and I have spent considerable time testing a couple of V5 ?BITX boards for use with our JackAl board. (See hamradiodesigns.com) No hardware modifications are required. We did have to make some minor changes in the software because of the new IF frequency. We expect to release a new software release for the V5 board in a few days. I will send out a notice when it is ready for download. We are also expanding the assembly manual with additional photos and narrative. That should be ready next week. The JackAl boards are being sold by QRPGuys.com. Jack, W8TEE |
Getting ready to build my ubitx v5, tomorrow.
Kelly Mabry
开云体育Hi everyone! An exciting day tomorrow. The ubitx v5 board will arrive from India via DHL. The parts for the case (which arrived so quickly,? thank you Sunil! amateurradiokits.in) have been dry fitted and look fabulous. I have been researching build videos via YouTube. As it stands the Nextion? display is 10 days away from arrival, so I intend to build it, test it and wait for the? display to arrive.?? 73,? Kelly K5AID? Thanks Laurence, I made a copy for my Linux-tid-bits file. Terry - KB8AMZ Brimfield Twp, OH USA EN91hd Linux User# 412308, Ubuntu User# 34905,?PCARS#78, NAQCC#6668, QRP-ARCI#8855, SKCC#14195 On Wed, Mar 13, 2019 at 12:07 PM Laurence Oberman <oberman.l@...> wrote: Hello |
Very happy with my recently finished build of the (unmodified) uBitx v5:

Raspberry PI 3 Soundcard: Sabrent USB adapter (uBitx MIC/SPK are directly connected to the soundcard, no additional isolation transformer or additional capacitor seem to be required) Case: recycled GE Phoenix SX Vhf radio (required a lot of changes to fit in the uBitx) Firmware: CEC Firmware v1.120 for uBitx v5 How does it work in the middle of Silicon Valley / California? My initial results: - SSB voice is not possible because of high noise - KGO AM transmitter is only 8 miles away from my QTH and is causing Broadcast Interference (BCI) across a wide frequency spectrum in the 20m/40m band -> a magnetic loop antenna might be able to address the BCI issue or the addition of a 'BCI filter' as discussed in this forum Other suggestions on how to address this issue are welcome. Wsjtx: - FT8 is working and I was able to complete a few QSOs with stations 1300 miles away (CM87 <-> EM16) - very few WSPR messages have been received (signal are too weak) - send WSPR messages (with either the CEC firmware or Wsjtx) been received by other stations - FT8 send/recv maps are attached Fldigi: - was able to receive AARL's W1AW CW HF 'propagation bulletin' -jens (KM6ZJV) |
