Re: Gigaparts selling ubitx!!!

Terry

This list spans the whole world, so be careful with the term foreign. We are blessed that firms like hfsignals and qrplabs accept our currency, and folk in lots of nations can purchase these rigs.

Nice. Those pages needed fixing, all right.

Re: BFR93W

Yiu may see tbe item? w succix was made by siemens. I have the datasheet for same, Allison.

Mouser has them at about 37 cents each.

ook it up ans BRF93 (no W) as it gets mroe hits and then make sure it is
the right package SOT-23 or 323 as needed.

Very close the BFR106 and many others of that class of device.

No display

I just replaced my Arduino nano. Loaded in KD8CEC software ver 1.072 and the display only has a row of boxes on the top line and nothing on the bottom.? I have adjusted RV1 to either end of it's adjustment and all that happens is the boxes get darker or disappear altogether.

Check the adjustment instructions at HFsignals, but this sounds correct from memory? for ssb with no audio input. The current should go much higher when applying enough audio or doing cw. Unless you have a key, use a piece of wire to short the cw input to check your transmit current and output power.

Hi Jeff
Can you attach a picture of the encoder wiring.

When you power off and power on I assume you are following this order.

Press once
Should show bands prompt
Press again then rotate to band you want
Then press again

Laurence

I have wired up and enclosed a ver. 4 ubitx40 and am having trouble getting the encoder to respond correctly in order to change bands, or go into setup, or tune. Am able to cycle thru the following 3 screens with consecutive button pushes:

Sound thru earbuds is good. Have proven ubitx40 transmission on another known-good transceiver using an iambic keyer and the mic. All else appears to be working normally. Have checked all wires from the digital bundle and have proved continuity.

Only test gear is a multimeter.
I wonder what suggestions you might have.....

Ubitx V3 current consumption during Tx #ubitx

Just I noted that my ubitx take 650ma during tx and 75 ma during rx. The supply voltage is 12V. Is it normal or I need to crank further?

Re: Encoder not responding as expected

I think you have a v4 uBitX (not a BitX40) with the software as it comes from the factory, right? When you push the encoder to get into the menu, you then have to turn the encoder to make the menu selection, then press again to confirm whatever you have selected. Do you get a response when you turn the encoder knob?

Bonjour !
La 4.7k est pour une pioche, les deux autre doivent ¨ºtre rajout¨¦es si l'on utilise un "paddle". Voir le sch¨¦ma de c?blage joint.

Re: uBitx V4 Audio extremely quiet and other needed mods#ubitx

I think JRC did not perfect the art of packaging the magic smoke inside their chips.

I always used the 2822 in bridge mode and never blown one in my projects at 12V.

Understood.? I was chiefly going for the drop-in replacement angle. Wiring an audio amp module to the high side of the volume pot certainly has merit.

So far as that goes, amp boards with even several watts are still very economical for those who want to wake up the village.

A simple lm386 module comes much cheaper, and can be adopted removing the discrete section.?

Re: A Full Screen 3.5 #nextion

Here are a few pics of some of the bigger changes.

Re: A Full Screen 3.5 #nextion

Hey, Sam.

This was a really quick-and-dirty type deal. I mainly wanted to make things easier to see at a sit-back in the chair distance AND have the buttons react, rather than have the sensory ability 2/3 of the resized background art, i.e., avoid a 3.5" screen with 2.8"-sized touch sensor detectors buried behind somewhere.?

One might consider dropping the last decimal position. Just not sure whether it adds much, that's all.

I think once I learn how to do this Nextion design stuff (or as i/we use this to learn how), more of the menu-able options could be brought right up to the home screen of larger displays rather than simply expanding the original images to fill real estate proportionately.

I'll await to see what you come up with (and hope to learn how you got that one button returned to the foreground where it came from).

Re: A Full Screen 3.5 #nextion

Hi Ted. We actually have a lot of errors to deal with. For the read control, i just deleted it and recreated. There are a lot of sizing issues and a few missed controls. Not too bad...I got tied up on a custom screen for heavier cw controls. I'llget back to this tonight

Re: A Full Screen 3.5 #nextion

I haven't played with it while actually attached to a radio much, yet (been doing family stuff).? Would you please PM me with your corrected HTM file and let me know how you got the "READ" back on the Mem->VFO screen? It may help me figure out how to attack other parts.

Tnx,

Ted

Re: BFO Question

I don't know much about the radio control programming setups though it sounds like your program was written for the V3 and V4 - the IF frequency that the rig keeps resetting to, suggests that this is the case.?

This "version 1.08" software - are you referring to the KD8CEC firmware itself?? If it was, you would need V1.12 and nothing earlier,? because of that IF change in the new V5 ubitx.

Just somewhere to start; others will set us straight.
