Re: ubitx receive signal

Sorry not deviation meant amplitude. 1khz signal 50% amplitude.

I also did a zero beat against a 7.150MHZ signal 1khz using my signal generator to transmit and then listened on my commercial radio and ubitx to sync the 1khz sound.? BFO sounds perfect at the default.? ?I also noticed through the earphones I could hear as little as 20-30mv signal via ubitx I wasn't able to easily hear on the speaker of my yaesu.??

Even still I can't pull in intelligible ssb conversations on the ubits that my yaesu ft-991 can easily hear even using the same antenna 40/20m fan dipole.

Sunil is not sending goods with a value less than $25 at the moment. Something to do with DHL and no India post.
He will cancel the order if it's less. It has just happened to me.

Hi Dave,

Did I miss something? Deviation is an FM measurement unit. I didn't notice that you are using your uBitx for FM. Are you doing that with SDR software?

John,
Sunil sells his front board / wiring kit a la cart for $15 + shipping.

No difference in v3/v4 board wire-up.

Help to enable S-meter in KD8CEC v 1.071

PeteWK8S

I have a working S-meter under VK2ETA version of KD8CEC firmware. I am using a 1602x2P display. However, when I implement KD8CEC's v 1.071 I cannot figure out how to enable S-meter in the display.
YES I have set up the S-meter in his Memory Manager BUT is does nothing and there isn't even a area on the display open where the S-meter could show....meaning where the S-meter should be the VFO B contents is displayed. I've searched through the code but don't see where to enable the display of the S-meter.

Any ideas? ?Please note again my S-meter does work under VK2ETA's version so it's a matter of the firmware.

Re: ubitx receive signal

That should be 'good enough'. You might have to pay a little more attention if you want to use the rig in a frequency measuring contest. That isn't necessary for just everyday operating.

Re: ubitx receive signal

Does any one have their oscilloscope peak to peak volts measurements for the receive transistors (with a specific signal generator volts/ of of course)???
Q10,11,12 base and collector and Q30,31,32?
I can measure and post mine.? I noticed their is very minimal gain at Q10 and Q30, almost so small my scope can't really see much difference.
(My scope only goes down to 20mv/div I think)

Re: bitx40 displays version, hums, but does not receive #bitx40help #bitx40 #radiuno

The latest version is v1.28.1, but v1.27.7 should also work OK.
It should work even without any of the modifications as described in the instructions. However, I would recommend to at least install the function button. Keeping the function button pressed during power on will restore all settings to the default values.

Re: Version 4 bitx squealing after nextion upgrade.

Evan,
?it is simple.
?I uploaded a file? refresh_eeprom.ino ( i GOT IT FROM MY CLOSE FRIEND OM MAHESH? VU2IIA AND WORKED FINE FOR ME)
1. place the usb card and connect it to your laptop. Of course I use windows.
2. call for the file (after unzipping AND PLACING IN A FOLDER)
3. COMPILE AND LOAD
ONCE UPLOADED .
?YOUR JOB IS DONE AND THE EEPROM IS CLEARED.
?NOW YOU CAN LOAD STOCK FIRMWARE FRESH AND MANAGE YOUR rADUINO AND UBITX.

?ALL THE BEST
?

Sarma,

I am confusing the thread with the prior email.? ?I really was asking the question if you meant by "clearing the contents with ino" in your original post to load another .ino program.? You have now explained that you meant to recompile the .ino file from CEC using the Arduino developer program to load into the nano.? To me that was not clear.

Apologize if I am confusing the issues, rather than helping.

Based on the posts to sell the auxiliary equipment from Uniflight58, I assume that he is giving up.

Again, sorry to all that I could not help more

Re: ubitx receive signal

This is a great idea/process when used with the CEC sw and memory manager.? One thing I did do was find an offline program:

Was real easy to use a usb mic as input to the program on Windows 10.

Really improved the receive quality for my v4 ubitx.? Right after I was able to contact Florida from Chicago using only a OCFD in my attic.

I used a 'random noise source' and Spectrogram? (maybe still? available on ELECRAFT K2 website)

easy/peasy

Missing front panel socket board for amaterradiokits.in uBitx case

John Parnell

Hello - I tried searching the messages here and can't find any info on this:

I am finally was able to start on putting my? early ver 3 ubitx boards into one of Sunil's great looking cases. The case was one of the first ones; I received it in late April of this year. I went to the builder's info on Sunils and ubitx.net and immediately noted that I was missing the Front Panel Socket Board.
I was thinking that maybe the early ones did not have the board included, but the only reference I could find to wiring up the case without the front socket board was some photos he took of the prototype that did not have the board (and included a warning not to try and do it without the board unless one is a advanced builder,? which I am not).
To make sure it was not an add-on to the case package, I also checked all the kits and PCB's on Sunil's www site and didn't see the Front Panel board being sold, so am assuming it should have been shipped with the case.??
I found the N5WLF's excellent "mini manual" that shows the wiring specifics for ver 4 board for those rolling their own cases,? but am not sure if it is usable on ver 3 boards. My other issue is that I am handy with soldering, but go crossed-eyed following schematics - which is why I opted for the ready made case in the first place.??I sent amateur radio kits an inquiry about this but have not heard back. .
If all else fails, I can probably dope out how to put it all together without the "training wheels" , but it will be a struggle. Any ideas or suggestions on how to proceed would be appreciated.?

73,?

John, K7HV

Re: ubitx receive signal

Thanks, interesting.? May have to think about something like that since it just doesn't want to hear much at the moment.

Re: ubitx receive signal

Thanks didn't know that but retried. Still signals seem very faint/garbled.? Even tuning around things don't get better.? Seems like it just can't pull the signals out of the noise.

I can tune something on my regular rig and it's clear as day and using the same antenna hear nothing on the ubitx.

I can't do the mic tuning part yet I didn't get my mic hooked up yet.
