Re: si5351 crosstalk

I think that you can actually use two? Si5351a on the same I2C bus as the least significant bit of the I2C address can be set by connecting PIN A0 to VDD or GND . This only seems to be an option on the 8 output version of the chip so it would seem like a waste to sacrifice 14 outputs to get two that play nicely together (one on each chip).?

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHello all, about the file ubitx_70_E.hmi, i have a question, when i load it on the gui software the items are all grouped in the top left corner. the placement of the various components is left to everyone's choice? Ian, you have made a great job, BRAVO, 73¡¯s de Jacques ¨C F1APY ? ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Tom, wb6b ? This is great. Re: VK4PP uBitx LPF BANK add-on Board
Hi, would it be compatible with the stock firmware too (I have uBitx ver 3)? Il 13/set/2018 03:00, "Nick VK4PP" <nickpullen@...> ha scritto: OK, an economy version! |

I looked into this in more detail. It looks like there is an?ATmega328PB version of the chip that has a "E" resister that can be used to make the A6 and A7 pins digit I/O pins as "alternate" pin functions.
I randomly grabbed one of my cheap Nano clone boards. Does not look like it has a "PB" version of the chip. Tom, wb6b |
Re: si5351 crosstalk

Kees I mounted my own Si5351 board on the Raduino pcb by Nick, vk4pln for bench testing.? His board has a socket for an Adafruit Si5351 board. I made my own version also with buffers, to measure difference between the Adafruit and my? version, as in this thread.?? I can't comment though on the overall effectiveness on doing it here as I simply have not installed the Raduino into my existing Raduino equipped uBITX. But I also designed a pcb (post? #58996)to fit on the uBITX main board right at the Arduino1 connector point. Three track cuts and insert the board. Plus run 5v suppy to it. But I have not yet made this pcb. I am going to mod the draft a bit to add ferrite bead/cap decoupling on the supply line first. There's not space here to do much! I wanted to avoid removing uBITX parts also. Glenn |

I believe pins A6 and A7 are analog inputs only, they do not have digital IO blocks associated with them. See post?/g/BITX20/message/57215 Also look at the pin-out diagrams in that datasheet. Jerry On Wed, Sep 12, 2018 at 07:12 PM, Tom, wb6b wrote: Does A7 work as a digital output?? |

Tom, Yes,?
Would also be good to convert to I2C lcd then there are 6 free Digital I/O too. Maybe next version of software will allow you to chose which port you want to hook up the extra filter too.. 73 Nick. |

Thanks for all the replies!
I'm glad to hear you are working on the wiki Allison! I also like your rewiring of the relationship solution.? I'll read up some more and decide what to do.? I ordered a 45mHz filter for the spur issue.? Time to print out a schematic and try to follow along with what people are doing.? Did you write up the procedure in more detail in another post Allison?? I can try to noodle it myself, but I like to have an idea of what I'm doing before I start taking stuff apart...? -Jeff |

Ian,
Thanks you so much, the custom filter section is PERFECT for my LPF boards. and very easy to setup!!! Please send me an email with your details, I will post you a set of these LPF boards!!! 73 Nick VK4PP |

This is great. And it looks like the source code is now there.?
I find it easer to upload new firmware from the source rather than the hex files, so I'm still (happily) using the last version that had source code.? Also, with the source code, I'll be looking to see how Ian has yet again pushed more functionally into such a tight space. Tom, wb6b |
Re: K5BCQ uBITX Relay Switched LPF/BPF board
John, since you asked.............
The 4x LPF Relay Filter board with plug-in LPFs (pictures further down on this thread) will fit in the same location as the existing 4 LPFs and the 4 associated relays after removing them. The overall enclosure requirements will not be any different. The idea is to reuse the uBITX components on 4 plug-in LPF filters. The 4x board is undergoing testing now. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ and/or........... The other option I have is to use an external 6x LPF Relay Filter board (applicable to many QRP rigs) and mount that externally or internally if you have a large enclosure. The 6x board is "dirt simple" and basically has an input bus and an output bus which support 6 plug-in LPFs. Those individual LPFs can be the ones Hans Summers sells at QRP Labs or your own designed/built LPF plug-ins. Hans Summers also sells a nice, 6 relay, LPF plug-in board. My 6x board layout will allow you to cut part off and make it a 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or a 6x plug-in LPF board. Control for the 6 sets of relays (2 per LPF) is with a manual 6 position rotary switch. Pictures/Gerbers are in the uBITX files section under my call.? I will make the 6x Gerber files available today so you can order your own and share with others or sell you a "board in an envelope" with postage included for $5.00 total in the USA until I'm out of stock. I am also offering a mini-kit with a board, 4-12 relays with 1N4148 axial lead diodes and smt capacitors for $1 per relay (those relays are the same ones used on the uBITX board today), 6 blank LPF boards with associated headers (no components), and a 6 position rotary switch. No coax connectors are provided and the board has SMA footprints. Since that won't fit in a regular envelope,? postage is $4 in the USA for a padded envelope until I'm out of stock. The mini-kit as described with 12 relays and 6 blank LPF boards is $30 plus postage. With the many LPF alternatives out there I have no idea how this is going to work out and I hope you are not too confused. .......I am. 73 Kees K5BCQ |

I will let Kees answer for himself. I have a homemade steel box and my uBitX barely fits - like yours. It is a lot smaller that the few others I have seen. But..I suspect that I can find a space for a new filter card over there AND find a way to get it assembled. I have a board coming and will probably order another of a different style. 73, Bill KU8H On 09/12/2018 06:43 PM, John Scherer wrote:
