Greetings, Heinz!

There is a square blue preset potentiometer on the Raduino board. It adjusts the Contrast - the percentage of time the screen's characters are lit or dark. It is often left set? to 'lit' as new, but adjusting it cannot damage the Raduino ...

Hopefully helpfully,

I have been playing with electret mics and using one that has has -24 dB output. This is :

Note that 0dB = 1V/Pa. If you look at some of the specs of other elements, they have typical sensitivities from ~ -40 to -30dB. There is a huge range....

Guten Abend Heinz,
Anschliessend sollte man alle Verbindungen pr¨¹fen.

Hallo Elmar,

yep, in englisch tue ich mich echt schwer :-))

Er macht eindeutig Ger?usche, es h?rt sich aber nicht nach HF Signalen sondern eher nach
undefinierbarem L?rm an, wenigstens etwas.

Du hast das Board gewechselt ?
Also die gro?e Platine ?

PS ist es nun ein arduino oder ein raduino ? ich tue mich da echt schwer....

ADE-1-24

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

With the original ADE-1,?pin 1,6 is?a coil, from where pin 5 is the center tap of the 2nd coil of the same transformer.
Same for pin 3,4 and?pin2.
?
Now, the ADE-1-24 has the following configuration.
pin 1,6 and pin 2
pin 3,4 and pin 5
?
Basically, ADE-1-24 pin 2 and 5?belong to the?other transformer with respect to the ADE-1
?
If you connect the ADE-1-24 as if it is the ADE-1, you will get other impedances / reflections / suppressions / mixer losses.
Other that that, it?might still work.

So here I am again with a brand new problem:

the raduino display only is lightend, but there is no more information.
What happend : I made any experience with the raduino and the power regulator, I connected
a PI Filter with 2 capacitors and on resistor 10 Ohms but only 1 Watt, the resistor crashed
and the power regulator 7805 on the raduino board crashes also.

So today I bought a new regualator and asked the specialist in the electronic shop how to connect it
and protect it. He sold me a new 7805, two ceramic capasistors of 100 nF, a diode and 1 resistor 10 Ohms
2 Watt.

I properly solderd all the parts correctly, but it is the same as after the crash, the display gets lightend
but shows no longer any information

What can I do, is there any way to get a new raduino ore how can I fix this problems

Troubleshooting decoder

?So I just finished wiring up my UBITX. ?I connected it to a small battery I bought from the store, and it powers right up. However I am having trouble with the decoder knob. Upon turning the knob, the frequency changes Only 50 cycles back and forth From the starting frequency. Similarly, I can¡¯t ?navigate through the menu. ?The push button works. As far as I can tell, it¡¯s wired correctly.?

Any suggestion?

Re: Soft for mBITX transceiver

Dear Barry thanks for warm words. I do have now Arduino 1.8.5 programm. But I do not have knowledge how to programm the arduino nano and what more I can't collect among the words the file with the sythesyzer 5351 programm - I mean simply take file and put it to loading programm. I see words and steps. + my English is not too good to catch all detales. Many thanks George.

VE7CWS WRSeiler

Hello folks
I was told that it was developed for certain business class Mac computers and is very similar externally to the picture that Gary posted for the G2 mike. The element is about 2 millimeters larger in diameter to the stock mike and about 3 millimeters longer.

My ship leaves on the next tide and Inmarsat email is cost prohibitive back in three weeks.

cheers n 73?

W0EB Raduino 47 ohm resistor ... Mine (on a '40) is 51 ohm, just what was to hand in the scrap bin - 2 or 3Watt. Takes the heat out of the 7805 regulator, leaving it still with 8V, plenty of dropout overhead. This with 100uF electro on the input and 100nF disc on both in and out (5V) directly on the IC pins. My wiper-resistor is a 3k3 bridging a track break beside the LM386.

Re: Mike element

WRS,
Would it be possible for you to identify the Apple mic model you used?? There are many on the re-seller market, and many in junk boxes.

I am aware of 2 basic Plain Talk model types from the 1990s.? The older disc type (G2)? being what I think is just a electret element (but I never opened one up).? The newer (G3,G4) having an amplifier, and had a longer TRS connector.?

Gary

Google "TO-220 insulator kit".? You can steal them from old equipment such as a computer power supply.
With two of those and some heat transfer grease, you can mount the IRF510's to one grounded heatsink.
The RD16HHF1's don't need the insulator kit, since the tab is the source pin, and gets grounded anyway.
But the insulator kits work well with the IRF510's.

For a backpacking radio, as I'm hoping to use my ubitx v3 for, can anyone see reasons to not move to RD16HHF1's or similar, particularly in my case for the reason that a larger passive heatsink out of my parts bin is slightly better to plan for in terms of battery power (weight vs space) , vs a fan or two running on the IRF510's

Do you have a picture of the original microphone before you ?removed the element? Or at least of what¡¯s left??

Re: Raduino fix leads to no receive uBitx #radiuno #ubitx

Hello Gary,

thank you so much for reply! I bricked my Raduino while installing an AGC board to my uBitx, there was a short on my AGC PCB where I hasn't scratched properly. Unfortunately there got battery power to the 5V pin of the Arduino over this short.?

Before the incident, I used also the firmware from KD8CEC on my uBitx and it worked perfect. The part number of my replacement chip is SI5351A-B04486-GT. I bought it from some UK based eBay store. The replacement of the chip was quite easy for me since I'm used to solder really small SMD packages. So all pins are soldered properly. There were signals on SDA and SCL.

While looking for some solution for my problem I found this thread here:
This guy seemed to have the same problem as me. And he got a solution for it. The I2C address of this particular chip is 0x62 instead of 0x60. Compiling the KD8CEC firmware with this small modification, my Raduino started to work as I expected.

But now I have some other problems with my uBitx. It seems to receive very bad. Only a few strong signals will be hearable. I also wondered about the signal level, my SI5351 is generating. While CLK2 has a level of 0.4Vpp on 160m band, on 10m the output is only about 0.1Vpp and I don't know if this should be like this. Also on the lower bands I receive stronger background noise, but no noise on everything above 20MHz.

I calibrated the main calibration with my frequency counter (soviet §¹3-54, very accurate and it has nixie tubes :-) ). I adjusted CLK2 at my raduino to be 55.000MHz when 10.000MHz is tuned.
Also my BFO seems to need a calibration. The signal quality of the few signals I can receive, is very bad.

George, don't get discouraged. Someone will rescue soon.
I do not have the exact web links hand but will find them today.

You just need two things.
The. ?.hex file & an uploader program. It does all the work and is easy.

I am a retired engineer and also get confused with 'all the words' ?.

Re: BITX QSO Afternoon/Evening, Sunday, July 8, 3PM & 7PM Local Time, 7277 kHz in North America, 7177 kHz elsewhere.

How about trying 14.277 +/-? Easy to remember

So I made today the wires shortener from the tuning pot, made a PI Filter with two capacitors and 10 Ohm Resistor
and listen two the sound: there was no disturbing noise and only silent clicks hearable,
as I listen and tune and listen the raduino works out, now in the moment there are only bold signs in the headline,
no more frequencies, I think it is better to give up fore the moment.

Many many thinks, but? shit happens ;-(
