Re: Enclosure

I really like that look.? Where did you get that briefcase and how did you create the front face metal panel???
I am toying with the idea of a setup like that or maybe an ammo box setup where I build a metal panel to hold the radio either facing the long side like yours or possibly facing the edge like a typical radio so I can maybe throw a mobile dual band rig in there with it. I'm not sure where I will end up yet. |

Both looking great and worthy ideas no less. 73 Bill WA8VIH/4 On Tue, Jun 26, 2018 at 10:38 PM, M Garza <mgarza896@...> wrote:

Re: Schematic . . . What Schematic . . mine?
TNX Bill and I think Vince did the same thing.
I received some boards from China yesterday that I forgot I'd ordered. I had to go to Paypal to see what 2 of them were. Looked liked great boards, but I didn't know what they were. Looked like maybe an amp of some sort.. Yea they were . .? Dynamic mic preamps. Wired one up to the uBitx and got great audio. And yes . . . I did make a notation in my notes. Like they say . . . War is hell . . .so is getting older . . .? HI HI 73 all |

Thanks for all the replies.
I will do the raduino update as well as the mod to mute the LM386. Should fix the problem. Great to have all the support. Cheers -- John VK6JAH |

Very nice build.? I plan on doing the same thing.? I wanted something that fit in a backpack.? I even have room for a 12v 7AH battery in the case. Thank you for the inspiration. Marco - KG5PRT? Re: WSPR Empty Data

Powering the uBITX down, reconnecting to MM and reading and decoding does not show the WSPR settings as I originally tried to write. I am using Windows 10.
Just what is the Match Data box in MM actually doing or informing me about? No error messages from MM, only EMPTY DATA from 1.08 Raduino?when attempting to set Beacon Mode even after powering Raduino up again.? Bob |
Re: Enclosure

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHere is my uBitx. The display is too bright and came out white. I use the RF gain, AF gain, tuning, band selector, Function and ANL controls at the moment. I reprogrammed the Raduino so that A7 reads the position of the band selector switch and changes the band. It is quicker and easier then using the push on the knob. Right now, Function is just on/off. I might have it change the sidebands, but there are no more easily usable inputs on the Raduino. The MIC plus in the REC SEND jack, the phone jack works, speaker output is on the back. I am using ANL to enable the 50 linear amp. The S meter works.I have no plans yet for the preselector, cal and car reset functions. The inside is still a work in progress. I should get my accessories PCB in about a week and hopefully will be able to report on it later in the summer. Right now, the linear is only usable on 20 meters. The select able LPFs for the amp are on the new PCB. The protoboard has the prototype S meter, AGC, mic AGC and audio amp circuits on it and will be replaced by the new PCB. Howard WB2VXW

Here's my attempt at a 'transportable' uBitX. The box is a 'toy' briefcase and the display is mounted with a ribbon cable on the top surface. The gaps and perforations are for air flow ?as there is a manually switched fan blowing across the heatsinks which is used for continuous digital modes.

Re: KD8CEC Nextion - Hardware Question

The S-meter and PO use pin A7.? You will need relevant hardware mods to use the meter. Both functions can use the same pin since one only works on RX and the other only on TX. However this doesn¡¯t prevent use of the display for all other functions? Mike ZL1AXG On Wed, 27 Jun 2018 at 7:38 AM, Yaya via Groups.Io <eliamady=[email protected]> wrote: Hi All, |
Re: RFI from uBitx TX after AGC and other mods installed
Don, I have this effect after installing the AGC board. I hadn't done the twisted pair on the links to the volume pot so I did that. It almost knocked out the problem on 40 but still very noticeable of 20 meters. Twisting those wires did have a positive effect.

Re: RFI from uBitx TX after AGC and other mods installed
Yes, please. Then un-jumper the header, leaving it open, and see if the feedback remains. Next step is to disconnect the S meter lead. Then short J1 to ground. If we can isolate the problem then we can corner it and eliminate it. We just need to figure out how it lets the gremlin in. Thanks for being patient. 73, Don

Re: Transmit Voltage and Thanks
The IRF510 can tolerate up to about 30V if the SWR is reasonable.? I've run the same pair at
28V for years.? Expect a lot more power and watch the heatsink temps.? More power more cooling required. As to current draw it depends on the band and what the drivers will give at that band. Stay under 4A. Better replacements.? THe RD16HHF is at 10$ for a pair and do not exceed 16V with those. I could list some other RF stuff at maybe 50-100$ a pair. You are limited in the amount of drive the driver stage can do and the traces on the board will likely go away at more than 4A. Allison |
