I haven't been paying attention to the CAT stuff, does this also put the uB into transmit or is something separate still needed?

Thanks!
Vince.

This weekend i got my uBITX.?Of course, it has already been assembled and successfully tested. It lives in a cookie jar for now ;-)
The box was shipped with?Indian Postal Service and?delivery?took 25 days.
Unfortunatly customs opend the parcel and asked for?import duty.
Not a big deal, but i wanted to let you know...
This little TRX is still worth every cent.

Re: Nano Capability with 2.8" TFT Displays

I guess the backside photo sort of documents it.
Looks like three independent SPI interfaces for the SDcard, the touch screen, and the LCD.
That plus pins for GND, VCC, RESET, D/C, and LED to figure out.
Not too bad.

Banggood has an identical display, product ID of 1206782.?
And the same lack of documentation.
They do have a? zip file with some STM32 code as an example.
Unfortunately it expands out to 20 mbytes worth of crap to wade through.?

Anybody see better documentation for this thing?

Lawrence, thanks for the heads up and the flash from the past, I had a BC348 as one of my first radios. I got my novice licence (WN0YMH) around 1972 while in Salina Ks!

All is fine with my order and HE mentioned He? WILL BE shipping 50 cases by the weekend !!! (WOO! HOO!)

I know someone is going to ask- when did your order the case? . Let me check PAYPAL history -? MARCH 16th, 2018

So I hope this posting reduces email inquiries, so they can focus on shipping at hand.

Did you get any notification of the ship date or was it a surprise?

I've got a couple cases that I've been patiently waiting for.

Excellent!
Even has a touch sensor.

I guess you can read the ILI9341 datasheet to figure out how to talk to it.
Still need to get power to it, fiddle with the contrast adjustment somehow, ...

The ebay listing talks vaguely about an STM32, but I doubt it has one.
And says "5V compatible, use with 3.3V or 5V logic",
but then has some fine print saying you need level shifters to use with a 5v processor.
They should claim it's USB and RS232 and ethernet and 20ma current loop compatible as well.

Re: ws1t implementation with wd8cec firmware.

In WSJT-X on the Settings dialog, Radio tab, you need to have:
Rig:? Yaesu FT-817? ? (I use DXLab Commander for CAT control and in my case, "Rig" is set to DXLab Commander")
CAT control - Serial Port should be the COM port your uBitx is connected to
? ? Baud rate 38400, Data Bits 8, Stop Bits Two, Handshake None
PTT Method:? CAT
Split Operation:? you may need to select "Fake It," I couldn't get "Rig" working when I connected directly to the uBitx

Click Test CAT.? Does it turn green after a short wait?? If not, something is not connecting properly and you won't get proper results until you figure that out.
If you get green, and have a dummy load or proper SWR antenna connected, click Test PTT.? The uBitx should go into TX mode.??
If all is well, click OK.

At this point, the frequency shown in WSJT-X should match, and follow, the frequency of your uBitx.? If you choose a band / frequency from WSJT-X's drop-down, the uBitx should change to that band and frequency.
Click Tune and the uBitx should transmit power that you could use to adjust your antenna tuner.? Don't tune into a high SWR or open antenna port or you may blow out the finals.

If all this is good, go make some Q's!

varitable power output ubitx

I am swapping out the mosfets like suggested and I am looking for a way to do h/m/l power so I can use a 10m to 2m transverter and a amp .
but would require the power to be less then 5 to run the transverter and or the amp. wo I am looking at a 3 point rotary switch but how to put it in line is the question. this would give more controll.

the mosfets I am changing to are?RD16HHF1 TO-220 Mitsubishi HF RF Power MOSFET??
giving more power and better performance

The COM port will be the same as the one you used for Ian's uBITX Manager.
You can only have one piece of software accessing the COM port at any time.
If you have uBITX manager still connected, disconnect it and then choose the COM port in WSJT-X

Nigel.

Re: ws1t implementation with wd8cec firmware.

Yes USB cable is installed between arduino port and computer. The only port number is 1 when I looked at it and it is in uppersideband. I also have audio cables between the computer and radio. It receives well picking up many ft8 channels. The tx won't key via the USB port.

Do you think my problem has something to do with the fact that only one USB serial port is active?

Re: ws1t implementation with wd8cec firmware.

The software is Wsjt had a typo.

Re: ws1t implementation with wd8cec firmware.

Nigel G4ZAL

In WSJT-X settings (Radio tab), you have USB for the serial port, choose the correct port number from the dropdown in the serial port setting (assuming you have the USB cable connected to the uBITX and arduino).

Great build Yves and I see you have lots of room for a decent size batteries.
I noticed you removed the heat sink on the regulator on the Raduino,?
did you make some mods to the board that reduced the heat generated?
that made this possible? I¡¯ve added a 47ohm resistor in-line with the?
12v feed to the regulator and that reduced the heat generated by the large?
voltage drop across the regulator.
