开云体育Also, what Ron said about just wiring direct audio connections, then using ?CAT control to do the push to talk should also work. ? I sort of like having some transformers in between, ?and some external volume controls but to each his own.In the previous tutorial, Siri added “chaperones” after the ferrites, but that was not intended. ??
If you’re going to use cat control to the nano, I would recommend shielding that as well as possible and a lot of ferrites .... ?i’ve had a lot of trouble with radio frequency interference to that connection.
I’m fairly busy, so I haven’t gotten to use my bitx40 & uBitx ‘s as much as I would like, but many WINLINK connections with it.

开云体育Well, I didn’t know there was a need for a tutorial!So let’s make one right here.
The easydigi route is cheaper than the signal link however the same idea works. ?This is basic point to point wiring for the most part, but it’s great practice for new hams to understand how signals coming in and out of their transceivers work.
You’re going to need to have the speaker output from the bitx, so find a way to get a wire coming out from a speaker output (we will call it SPEAKER)?and GROUND.
you’re going to also need a wire to the microphone input of the BITX, call that MIC?
finally you’re going to need a wire to the push to talk of the bitx and we will call that PTT
Now go buy a short Ethernet (modular plugs, 8 contacts on each) Cable, maybe 5 feet long, if you get the chance, use cat five, because it will have a shield/ground wire. ?
Cut off one of the modular plugs, & bring out the fancy colored wires.
Make the following connections:
GROUND from bitx connects ?to the solid orange wire AND to the shield wire if there is one
PTT from bitx Connects to the green white wire
MIC from bitx connects to the orange-white wire
SPEAKER connects to the blue-white wire.?
All the other brightly colored wires from the ethernet goes nowhere.
You have now successfully wired up a interconnection wire, that would cost you about $20 to buy commercial. If you have any ferrite chaperones, but a couple on this anywhere you like, and then put three loops 3” in diameter also, and secure those loops
with some zip tie or some tape. ?The loops work the same as the ferrites, they are both creating common mode inductance to stop unwanted RF current flowing on these wires.
The remaining task is to properly install the jumpers on the internal connection block inside the signal link. ?This is actually very easy. Using a hexagonal “Allen “ wrench, disassemble the signalink so you can get it in the circuitboard.
Find a little dual in line (DIP)socket towards the rear where the jumpers go.
Make the jumper configuration look like this:
MIC goes to pin one
GND goes to pin 2
PTT goes to pin 3
SPEAKER goes to pin 5.?
Notice that we skipped pin 4. ? Don’t wire ?any of the PWR wires to go anywhere. We don’t need them.
That’s it! You’re done! Signal link is now configured, and interconnection cable is now built. ?Maybe 10 to 30 minutes worth of work depending on your familiarity.
So that you will know, the connection set up that you just did for the signalink will now work with a whole host of commercial cables that are intended for the very popular six pin DIN interface used on almost all recent vintage ICOM YAESU, Kenwood transceivers.
?it will also work with the commercially available cable to go to the baofeng s. ? ?Not a bad choice huh ? ??
With a bit of a grin, we call it the Alachua County ARES standard. ?and we wire all of our signal links or signalink replacements, exact same way, so everyone can use each other‘s equipment as long as they have a cable built for their radio.

it's maybe the first thing I did! I tried to feed it with two different stabilized power supplies! 12V 2A and 12V 5A but does not change anything!
Tested with antenna and without antenna but does not change anything! I also realized that he receives nothing! The antenna to try was just a piece of wire, just to try the reception!
If I disconnect the bipolar raduino plug, the noise disappears! If I disconnect the three-pole potentiometer plug, the noise remains.
I do not know what to do... :-'(

Made this for my LaserBeam Variable Filter R1/R2/R3 = 220R R4/R5/R6/R7 = 10K C1/C2 = 10n OVR = RA2 Red CN = RA7?? Yellow BW = RB13? Green U1 is a L7805 for 5V instead of letting the laserbeam regulator do all the work. I also added a 5V tap for other items such as audio amp for speakers. (after thought should have placed U1 in a different place for heatsink at 12V) J3 is Vin square - circle + J4 reading from the square pin ????????????????????????? Pin 1 RC7 ????????????????????????? Pin 2 Gnd ????????????????????????? Pin 3 RC6 ????????????????????????? Pin 4 Gnd ????????????????????????? Pretty much all reports of blown TDA2822's have been with the "WX" branded clones, they can blow catastrophically if fed 12v.? Even the WX parts seem to work fine if the board is modded to add a voltage regulator so they only see 5 or 6 volts instead of 12 volts. I have not heard of trouble with the FCI branded TDA2822's, even at voltages over 12v. Though they will get hot if they are asked to deliver too much power to the load. Do you have the volume turned way up? Does your chip still get hot if your turn the volume control all the way down? If the chip gets hot at moderate volumes, but is not hot when the volume control all the way down, perhaps you simply have a defective speaker, try switching speakers. Could be that there are ultrasonic tones coming from the receiver that the TDA2822 is dealing with that you can't hear, causing the chip to overheat. ? ??/g/BITX20/message/40038 Could be that there are ultrasonic oscillations at the TDA2822 for some reason, though there have been no reports of that in the forum. Those last two possible faults could best be seen with an oscilloscope, though it wouldn't have to be a very good one.? Here's one that's not very good ???/g/BITX20/message/40977 but should be adequate for looking at audio issues and is very cheap: Better yet, ask around at a ham club, see if somebody with a scope will look at it with you. Respectfully - the audio amp in the ubitx gives plenty of output to
drive either headphones or a communications speaker. I'm not sure what additional capability this unit will offer. The ubitx does not provide stereo capability for music, there is no left/right output from the receiver so the stereo capability of this unit will be wasted. You will be limited to a 6db gain unless you want to control it using I2C. To do that you'll have to modify the ubitx software to allow you to do that. You may actually be better off with a TPA2012 where you can set gain with a set of on-board switches and can turn one speaker off by grounding the shutdown pin for one side or the other. You will also need some kind of insulated jack for the speaker leads since they can't be grounded in any way. Since the ubitx only has single-ended outputs on the pre-amp you'll have to make sure both the + and - input leads are fed through capacitors. The speaker leads need to be kept pretty short since they are carrying 300khz signals. I have no idea how that 300khz signal will impact the operation of the ubitx. That signal could easily leak into unwanted areas in the receiver. Does anyone know of a cabling arrangement that will let me bring the USB connection out to a connector on the case? It would be something like uUSB male to a panel mountable uUSB female.

And...I just realized I soldered it up wrong, the cap isn't series before the resistor, but parallel the way I soldered it up...hmm, something else to make right.? It's been working fine for 2 weeks and something like 600+ FT8 contacts as is, so there is some leeway in there. :-)

My first pass with bitx was using a Tentec 1208 kit (6M to 20M) the BITX20 of the day (around early 2006)
It was built dead bug without power amp stages.? I needed a 1 transistor buffer to get to about 1 mW to drive the transverter(sans high power attenuator).? The end result was an excellent 6M radio of about 10W (M1208 power out was 10W) and good receiver.? ?I later used the 1208 part for another project and the BITX20 was modded for 28mhz to use it with a 2M transverter.? The ubitx sans driver and finals will put out roughly the right power for most modern transverters with out the problem of too much power.? The receiver is a good match as well. Allison |

EasyDigi is my recommendation.? The kit is $8.95 on eBay or you can build your own.? Here is the diagram for what we need (we have CAT control, we don't need PTT through the audio lines)
I soldered one up in about 15 minutes for my uBITX, but I had the parts laying around from having built a trial-and-error EasyDigi with PTT before I knew the EasyDigi existed (doh!) for my Direwolf APRS digipeater on RPi and Baofeng. I also buy the TRS cables from Amazon in the bundles and then split them and attach to the EasyDigi, 2 cables = 1 complete interface.? These are the latest ones I used with decent wire inside were these:? I'll attach a completed pic of my interface for my uBITX that I just soldered up for those of you, who like me, who need to see it. 73 Rob AG5OV |
