Could have some RF capability.?? I know Florida DOT has fiber running in the Turnpike and Interstate rights-of-way.? The citizen call boxes are RF, but the cameras I see on top of the poles do not appear to have any RF.? According the company website they say they are IP based, but who knows.

In Cura one of the buttons on the left side when viewing the knob will be for scaling. It's been a while but as I recall there are tool tips for the buttons. It'll pop up a dialog which is self explanitory.

I have the Sotabeam cw DSP filter as a peripheral, using it on another rig, and it is good. ?I tried it on the uBitx and it is a definite improvement. ?However, I'm also going to try my old favorite, the Hi-Per-Mite SCAF from Four Square QRP Group (). I have one with for each of my rigs and love it. ?The excellent QCX transceiver uses it as well.

Hams! It is all in scaling, Cura may think the units are MM?.? In inches the tuning knob is 1.2".? The volume is 0.625".? So if you don't see those sizes your software is set up wrong.? Some programs automatically scale.? Others printed the knobs and had the same problem.? They fixed it in Cura with settings.? I use Simplify3D, so I can't help with Cura.? I am sure someone on this list uses Cura?

Re: uBit Software
Mike,
Once the Arduino IDE opens up and you can see all the code, make sure you have the Raduino plugged into a USB port and then go to the upper tab named 'Tools" and choose "Board" then select Arduino Nano. Next, goto "Tools" and select "Port", now select your USB port you have the Raduino plugged into. Now you are ready to see if the code will compile. Click the check mark in the upper left hand corner and wait until it finishes saying 'compiling sketch'. If everything is okay it will report 'Done compiling'. If you have made it this far you are ready to upload the new firmware to your Raduino. Now click the --> button at the top of the window and it should upload the Sketch into the Arduino. When it's done it will say 'Upload complete' and you are good to go. Let us know how you get on. Joel N6ALT |

Hi Jim, May I ask what you chose to use in place of your Raduino boards??

Pulled down all of the cases from the shelf at Skycraft and saw the different configurations. The case I bought had no heat sinking, so I doubt (at least with my case) had any RF capability.? Guess there might have been several different variations/pieces of the IP Video Surveillance System that used the same case. Only a guess.... Bob, W4RJP |

? ? If really paranoid, perhaps add an 8 or 9v linear regulator (or string of diodes) to reduce Vcc into the TDA2822M. Though I'd now tend to go for 6v, especially if you have a WX part. Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you. Re: BitX Volume Knob 3D Print File
Michael, I'm a 3D printer noobie and literally just got a monoprice printer this week. I've tried to load your two knobs stl files that you shared into Cura to generate the necessary gcode. The first knob (tuning) comes into Cura as a speck with zero minutes of run time. The volume knob comes in with an error message saying that it was resized and it also has zero minutes of run time. I've downloaded a stl file from another source and it comes in correctly and shows what I guess is a normal runtime of 1 hour and 58 minutes.? Your knobs where going to be my first attempt to print something because they seemed small and useful for one of my BITX radio! :-)) Any suggestions? I have some TDA2822 replacements ordered and will try them, but the adapter with the LM386 is working well, though the adapter will fall out of the socket if the rig is vibrated much. ?If I decide to keep it that way, I may need to figure out a better adapter.
