Re: Harbor Freight cases on sale
Vince Vielhaber
Yep, was on sale in December, was on sale all last month, is on sale all this month, won't surprise me if it's on sale next month too. I have 4 of them and one actual Pelican of the same size. My antenna analyzer occupies one of the HF cases - perfect fit!

Now someone on the HF Slick Deals forum said that if you spray the foam with plasti-dip after you remove the necessary foam cubes to fit your device (if you're using it that way and not as a radio case) it's supposed to make for a better fit. I'm looking into that and will report back when I find the full details. Vince. On 02/27/2018 07:00 AM, Jack Purdum via Groups.Io wrote:

Re: Ubitx rf our

I see a lot of talk about putting attenuators between the uBITX RF output and amplifiers.? There's one major problem with this.? If you put the attenuator between the uBITX antenna line and the amplifier, the same amount of attenuation is applied to the receiver input on the uBITX as applied to the output, effective reducing the receiver's sensitivity by that same amount.
The only way this will work is if you connect another relay (or solid state switch) to bypass the attenuator while receiving. Jim - W0EB |
Re: Ubitx rf our

Wouldn't it be easier to put in an attenuator after the RF out? ?Possibly with a switch to bypass it? ?A T-circuit with two 8.2¦¸ resistors in series with a 150¦¸ resistor between them to ground should give 3 dB attenuation and halve the signal. ?Or make it as a separate dongle between the XCVR and the antenna.

Re: I got my uBITX ... adventurous shipment !
Mikael
I was hoping to get around fees by chosing India Post?but no luck. Every single package to Sweden regardless of who transport it get slammed with handling fee and VAT now. Swedish post?has just been overwhelmed with?number of?China packages so was no fees or VAT on any shipment from Asia for a couple of years. All over now. Just have to adapt to that |

Re: Dynamic mic on ubitx
Thanks Michael.
I will keep all of these comment in mind.? unfortunately I already did the mod.? I will try a couple of things if need be I will put new resister back in.? It will be a good training in SMD's but tricky considering I cannot even read the little buggers even with my glasses on.? LOL -- 73, W9KJO Walter |
