BITX QSO Afternoon/Evening, Sunday, February 11, 3PM & 7PM Local Time, 7277 kHz in North America, 7177 kHz elsewhere.
Join us as we make contacts from BITX40 to BITX40 on 7.277 MHz in 40 meters! This is a worldwide event for BITX40 stations starting at 7pm in each time zone. To participate, call CQ BITX on Sunday, starting at?3PM and/or 7PM?your local time. The BITX QSO Night continues through the evening and conditions usually improve after sunset, so it is worthwhile to participate later in the evening. Suggested Best Operating Practices: Work at QRP power levels unless conditions require more power. Report your QSO's, discuss propagation, noise, signal reports, audio reports, antenna type, etc. in this thread. This is an undirected, scheduled event.? The BITX QSO Night relies on you to call CQ BITX to initiate contacts with other stations, so warm up that final and transmit a few calls on Sunday evening.? Talk to you then! |

Just like Sharma said.. wire up the board on the table and make sure everything works and if you want features or fix bugs then upgrade the firmware and make mods to the hardware. It is easier to solve problems if any on a stock and unmounted board. Raj At 09-02-2018, you wrote:

Re: Mic element
Jim :?
I am not using that specific headset but I have had very good luck with other computer headsets. More specifically I am using a Yahama CM-500 and? a Koss CS-100 Headset with my BITX40 with excellent results. I did try a cheap Logitech one and found that I wasn't getting enough audio from the? microphone. The one thing to be careful of when ordering computer headsets is that many manufacturers make both a USB and conventional dual 3.5mm? jack version of their headsets and you need to make sure that you don't ?accidentally order the USB version. Cheers Michael VE3WMB? P.S. To use a headset with the uBITX or BITX40 you will want to look into implementing one of the anti-TX/RX Thump mods, otherwise it is murder on the ears !? |

Dave, ?Enthuciasts? alwya mod for more facilities etc.?The rig would work with original software also. Regards MVS Sarma ? I am new at this
David Robertson
I am abut to receive my ubitx radio and according to the traffic on the list there are several upgrades to the firmware to the raduino system. I have electronic experience but am limited on programming microprocessors.
This is what I have done so far. 1, I have installed the IDE software and entered the flashing led program in an old Arduino system. 2, I have the necessary cables to interface my computer to my BITX40 system but have not yet hooked it up. This is what I need to know: 1, Where do I? find the upgrade sketches and what are the file names? I have found many with different names? but don't know which to use. 2, How do I save the code that is already programmed in my uBITX and BITX 40? 3, How do I install the new code? I know these are stupid questions but I don't want to brick my uBITX. Thanks in advance for your response. 73 Dave KD1NA I? |

hf signals is keeping the same price because they are able to manage within that price for now. if component prices go up, they might revise the prices. - f On Fri, Feb 9, 2018 at 10:49 AM, Dgyuro via Groups.Io <dgyuro@...> wrote:

uBitx questions

I orderd mine on the 5th - it was $109.? I thought the price had gone up but maybe I'm lucky somehow.? Looks like I'm in for a long wait as I decided to just go with India Post because I have several other projects going on and waiting a wjile is OK.? Am I right thatI will get no notification of status until the rig actually ships?? ?And how long will I have to wait?? From what I can gather it's about 2 months before shipment and the a month in shipment.

W0EB/W2CTX new I2C software V2.00R Release#ubitx
This has been posted to the "Files" section but it is sometimes difficult to find there so just to make sure I'm re-uploading it here as an attachment.? This is a very comprehensive update - The I2C bus on the Raduino card is used to drive a small controller card that attaches to the LCD display and now those of you who were wanting the A3, A6 and A7 analog inputs back to use for "Meter" programming can have them.? Since using the I2C bus to control the display frees up the D8, D9, D10, D11, D12 and D13 digital I/O pins on the Arduino Nano, we have reprogrammed the CW Paddles, Hand Key, and even the SSB Push to Talk lines to digital I/O's.? We fount that, since you don't use PTT in CW and you normally don't use the Keys in SSB that one digital I/O input could serve as Hand Key/External Keyer AND SSB Push to talk depending on the mode selected in the menu.? We put the Keyer DOT on D8, Keyer DASH on D11 and the PTT/Hand Key/External Keyer input on D12.? We didn't use D13 because it's used to drive one of the LED's on the Arduino Nano and requires some extra trickery to use as an input.? We also added an extra push button switch tied to the D10 input.? This button toggles the A/B VFO's and if you press and hold it for a short period, it enters SPLIT mode.? All of this and the hardware modification instructions are contained in the PDF documentation included in the zip file.? Lots of photographs are included in the manual to assist the user with the modifications and operation of the software after the mods are finished and the software installed.? You must perform the modifications first as the software cannot be used with the standard, Raduino mounted display as those digital I/O lines are used for CW/PTT operation after they are freed up by the I2C mods.

Re: W0EB/W2CTX Latest uBITX software release
#ubitx
We have resolved the problem.? It WAS NOT a bug in our program, it was a misunderstanding of the way our new menu system works.? The PDF file containing the instructions goes into detail on the new system complete with photo's to illustrate the operation.
Again, there is NO BUG in the software. W0EB |
