I'm about to go examine K3.
Just to confirm, when in TX there should be NO mic audio at all from the speaker? If I turn down the vol, initiate TX, then turn up the vol, I can hear any tapping or blowing on the mic from the speaker... It seems to be the initial TX pop the starts of the feedback,? but yeah, if the Mic is supposed to be completely muted, I have an issue there, as it is not.... 73 Nick, VK4PLN |

Thanks Bob, for this suggestion.

Is an extra option in the SETTINGS menu really required for this? It is doable but it would some extra program space. Or would an additional user parameter somewhere at the top of the code also be acceptable? (in that case the user would have to edit the parameter value and recompile/upload the code to change the setting) Another idea is to use the scan_delay parameter that we already use for scan mode. In that case the same delay would be applied for frequency scan mode as well as for fast tune when the pot is at either end of the range. Let me know what you think is the best solution. 73 Allard PE1NWL On Fri, January 5, 2018 16:29, Bob Gass via Groups.Io wrote:

Win a BitX40 kit January 6, by showing off your project, in East TN in a nice warm building see you there and meet Dr. Jack Purdum and bring everything he has ever written for him to autograph
come out to see a whole lotta other BitX40 and take home a door prize, bring your project and display and win 'Best in Show' and take home a new in box BitX40 kit, straight from Ashhar Farhan, don't they all come from there??, and Radio Shack is giving away Drone kits.? ? |

@twowindsbear - Thanks!! I am writing up my build log for the actual Bitx40 with lots of photos on my homepage at the moment, but wanted to publish this as a 'spin off' project first. I'll put a new topic here in a week or so when I have published it. If you can't wait there are lots more photos on my Google+ profile from when I posted some pics to the Amateur Radio G+ community.

@KD9HLC - It's a seven segment DC voltmeter to show input power (battery) voltage. Couple of dollars from China via eBay. Unfortunately the meter puts out INSANE RF noise and makes the radio entirely unusable. Probably need to try some copper tape and LC filtering with it at some point, but for now it's just disconnected (same goes for the fan next to it). |

What's that module on the back panel? |

GREAT looking case!
Could you post a few pix of the completed case, with the circuit boards & controls installed - especially the rear panel?? Thanks 73 Dan |

check for solder bridges on board along M1 M2 paths.

AM on uBitx / Bitx40?
Hi all,
? My email pinged yesterday and told me that the AM Rally is coming up in early February: ? I am way behind on projects so I'm not volunteering, but the question begs itself: what would need to happen to a stock Bitx40 to enable AM? ?How about a uBitx? ?The Rally has a lot of award categories including QRP AM, so you could become famous! 73 Phil W1PJE |
Ops
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThis is a little off subject but with all the new transceivers getting built i thought about facilitating some QRP operating. ?I will be at our villa on St. Lucia in two weeks and will operate again using my call J68HZ. ?I usually announce my operations and stick to a firm schedule... and the pileups get very large and so really no place for QRP stations. ?I think this time i will still announce normal operations in the DX rags but also post some QRP only ops and only post them here in the forums so we can maximize the number of BITx like contacts made. ?If i get spotted and it turns into another large QRO pileup, ill just move and announce the new frequency here. ?This should be a lot of fun!Dr.?William J. Thanks for your interesting. It will be released in a day or two. An error may occur when connecting to the uBITX for the first time. This is a problem with Arduino and a problem that people have known for a long time. I have posted some related beta test results below Link. . I will email the beta test firmware. Howto Firmware upload link is You can easily restore it the same way when you want to go to the original firmware. Don't worry! Re: Proof-of-concept for community-driven uBITX sketch using Github/PlatformIO/Travis-CI
I see that there is an Arduino plugin for VS Code. Might be worth looking at.If this is Visual Micro, I have been using it as my IDE for several years. I really like it as it just seems to me to be a more "real" IDE than the official Arduino IDE. (Probably having been doing software engineering and hardware for 45+ years.) 73 - Mark N1VQW |
