Hi Raj, thank you for your answer :-) Is this only possible by RV1 / RV136? ? Frank ? |

Maybe use a cheap dongle and a power meter until you're confident in the switch?? On Dec 15, 2017 9:30 AM, "Arvo KD9HLC via Groups.Io" <arvopl=[email protected]> wrote: It's still kinda scary to think about how much RF I might TX straight into the RSP1A even if the switch is working. |

Did you do the LPF mod? I had to add the cap on the bottom of the board.

If you have spare IRFs around try this. Slowly increase the final quiescent current and see! Raj Do any of you have a solution ? |

I am trying to get some good pictures of where I think beginners might stumble. For example, I have a blowup of the stereo connectors from the bottom showing the GND, RING, and TIP connections. Same for the volume control and encoder. Al Peter, AC8GY, is a great photographer and I'm trying to get him to shoot the photos. He did this one for me, which shows the ?BITX as it comes out of the box. The more I get into the review, the more I think it needs to be published quickly, so I may go with CQ magazine. QST has a very long lag right now. The downside is the size of the audiences. Still not sure where to try and get it published... More high res pictures is good also. Thanks. Joel N6ALT |

I think most would have the SDR dongle attached to the computer outside the Bitx's enclosure, so they could use the dongle with other antennas for different applications.? I was going to run the coax from the cap/tap on the PCB to a BNC panel mount on the exterior and then connect the SDR at will. For example, I may not want to bring the SDR, computer, and monitor while doing POTA. uBitX PA @ 24V?
#ubitx
Ashhar, Sarma, Raj, other? Is it feasible to drive the uBitX PAs at 24V, or is that asking for trouble? Apologies if this has already been covered; please point me to the thread. Thanks, Craig w9ctw

Re: Looking forward to a build
Well done on getting your licence!?
I started with the BITX40, it's an amazing bit of kit and was perfect for my budget. I like how well it's supported too and you can go very far adding to the bare bones kit.? I've had that now for about 6 months or so and haven't tired with it tinkering. I have just ordered a uBITX and it looks as if postage is after the 25th now, I'm happy to wait though! I'd say start with the single band board and there's no such thing as too many radios anyway!! 73, Alex |

Mornin' Joel: Well, I listened on 80M and things were jumping. I don't have an antenna for 80M so I can't attest to that, but you're going to love this radio. I got the rig as a Beta tester for Ashhar, but it did come DHL. I've never had a problem with them. I'm hoping it's sensitive there as I want to use it by my bedside at night. Also, you must have chose the DHL shipping option, In hindsight I wish I had done that, I have had so many bad experiences with DHL I just decided not to ship that way:-( Twice they have lost my packages in Germany.
