Re: LSB to USB
With the raduino you will have to enable USB and it'll switch the VFO to +12mhz offset instead of -12mhz offset. I did this on my BITX40 though I use the QRP Labs VFO. The principal is the same. You do have to remove C91 and C92 to make it work:

Re: Calling all Midwesterners.
It just came to me. it's something like "CQ Texas BITX40, or whatever state you want. Just like specific DX countries. Sometimes you gotta ask the question out loud to someone to figure it out for yourself.?
Right, next Bitx40 QSO night I am gonna try calling the states around me, and some of this list we have so far. Watch out Jack, I noticed you were on that list too. I'm calling for ya pal. Hi,Hi. |
Re: Calling all Midwesterners.
So, how does one go about calling for near by contacts, or even certain areas of the country. Like, what is the opposite of CQ DX? My intent is to call for BITX'ers closer to me that I have better luck hearing.
I noticed most of the middle of the country BITX'ers are closer to the North East. Are there any Texans? My antenna seems to attract Texans. All whopping three QSO cards I have are from Texas. |
Making PSK31 Contacts
Ok finally got the Vox board adjusted and hooked up the laptop power supply. I have about 19v on the PA and am getting about 9-10 watts out. Plugged in the computer this evening and was able to make several contacts on PSK31. Seems to be working fine my only concern is the PA is getting pretty warm even though it is heatsinked to the rear case. I will have to watch it closely and see what happens.A fan may be in order. Thanks to all for the guidance.

Note that it runs under the Arduino environment. So Allard's sketch should compile on it with little fuss, run alongside the filters. WIth display and Si5351 breakout board, could replace the Raduino. On Thu, Jun 8, 2017 at 03:16 pm, EA3IAV wrote: It may work?nicely inside our bitx40 ? |

See below: From: Joe <joeman2116@...> To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, June 8, 2017 7:17 PM Subject: Re: [BITX20] W8TEE TFT/VFO Board from FDIM talk Jack, Thanks for sending the boards. Picked them up today.. Nice looking board!. I also received my atmega 2560 mini pro and the correct DDS 9850. Mars 3 etc So parts have started to roll in... 1. I presume the vrmini 360,atmega and dds9850 all mount on the same side - the side with the lettering. (on the same side that says tft lcd vfo lettering)? Yes. I hope to have an assembly manual written within a week which will be similar to the Forty-9er and Antenna Analyzer manual. Right now, I need to add some info to the manual about using the keyer. That will come after the code is done. 2. I was thinking of putting headers pins ?/ sockets for ?- ?atmega, dds and vr mini. Just in case of a future failure. The Mega Pro Mini and DDS boards that I buy already have either sockets or pins. The Mega has female socket for all the pins, so I mount pins on the PCB. The DDS board has pins, so I use 7-pin sockets for it. Given a choice, I never solder an IC to a board. Tayda Electronics sells pins and 7-pin sockets at a reasonable price and they are in the US, so shipment is pretty fast. Then run cables from the tft ?display and tft vfo board. ? and mount the tft vfo board on the ?radio chassis and the ?TFT display on the front panel The attached photo shows how I'm mounting the PCB for the VFO/TFT board. Does this make sense or do you see any issues? That should work fine. I'm just mounting the board on the front panel to minimize the wiring between the TFT display and the PCB.The acrylic front panel makes for easy mounting of the PCB while minimizing the wiring to the other boards. The pictures shows 4 additional boards, but Dennis will likely combine these onto one fairly small board. Any forecast on the code???If I can beg out of a weekend trip, I should have it done this weekend. Because the AGC, S meter, CW, and speech processor boards need to be finalized, I do not have that code in place. However, you can practice your CW and use the 3 CW message switches as the keyer is in place. The Pro Mini can be used to generate a sidetone, which is what I'm doing at the moment. Thanks for your service , any info / guidance would be appreciated. Ps: ?I am preping a new case ( a converted small form dell computer case , for my 3rd bitx - (for your ?Colour TFT/vfo board..) I am making sure this time, to have lots of room for big heatsink and room for ?various modules.etc.... I use my current bitx40 for mostly jt65 - works great and some ssb. My built Bitx40 raduino for sale
Hello everyone!
Since I've moved on to an all band SDR qrp rig I've decided to offer up my built up Bitx40 with raduino. The rig is built into a sheilded Hammond enclosure, is running Allard's firmware with CW and other features enabled. The front panel has a ten turn tuning pot, function and tune buttons, volume, mic and headphone jacks. The back panel has the antenna connector and fuse holder. Includes a modified RadioShack mini speaker microphone originally used with the htx202. Puts out 5w on 13.8v. I've uploaded photos to the group under the W1NCR folder. I'm asking $120 shipped within the USA. Noel, W1NCR Noelacramos@... |

I'm not talking about pins from ebay. If you bought them on ebay, you use 'em.
