the software you made have ( nearly ) everything needed and even more then I needed !
do dought that I want BFO controlled bye the SI5351 and 19 MHz instead of 5 MHz !
but at the same time....... if it is posebly to avoid Menu's it will be my style !
Bleep's and save_freq is not what I want, but it is easy to remove unwanted feature

I would like 2 boards also.

Re: Raduino_v1.13 with scan function released

Wow that looks impressive Jack!

I haven't studied the manual yet (just looked through it briefly) but as I
understand it involves quite a few hardware mods.
Will your new code also still work on a standard unmodified BITX40 board?
Or is it a dedicated sketch for your mods?

Yes I wasn't too worried. The best part of this radio is the wealth of information on mods and support from the online ham community. You really have to start from the Internet when working with this radio and gather all the information you're interested in before you start tinkering.?

My goal is to provide a standard sketch that basically works on a standard
unmodified BITX40. The original BITX40 concept, as you know, is based on a
tuning potentiometer, not on a rotary encoder.

A rotary encoder would require code that is fundamentally different from
the current "standard" software. The whole sketch would need to be
rewritten, but then it would'nt work anymore on a standard board - it is
therefore not in my development scope, sorry.

Re: W8TEE TFT/VFO Board from FDIM talk

No, the only reason I said that was I have no clue what the cost would be to ship to other countries. Let's do this:

Pay for US postage regardless of where you are in the world. I will send you your order. If the postage charge on the order is greater than expected, you pay the additional charge. For example, lets assume that 1 board shipped in the US is $6.50. My best guess right now is that it's going to cost me $0.72 postage to send a board anywhere in the US. Let's further say that you live in Australia and the postage on the outside of the package is $1.72 (US). You would then send me an additional $1 for the additional postage cost.?

It's an honor system, but it's the only way I can think of that doesn't delay shipping your board.

Are you only able to ship CON US?

I have a limited amount of the boards and will announce their cost after I package one up and take it to the post office to see what it costs to send it. That won't be cheap as the PO requires it to be Parcel Post rather than First Class.

The way I'd like to do this:

On Monday I will give you the cost, which will include shipping to the US. If you order more than one board, add $0.20 for each additional board. I will give you a Paypal account for the payment.

Please write an email to me first telling me how many boards you want and the address where to send them. If I have boards left, I will write back with "Yes", whereupon you make your payment after which I'll send the board(s). If I say "No", I'm out of boards so don't make a payment. I may reorder and, if I do, I'll post here that they're back in and we start over.

Read the manual and figure out if your interested. My guess is that the first board will cost $6.00.

W8TEE TFT/VFO Board and where to order

Jack Purdum

All:

Rather than chew up the bandwidth for this group, I will do all correspondence for the BITX40 PCB at:

? ? W8TEEB40@...

I'll take those who have already written and get ready to process their orders. Also, I may have been confusing on the cost. Tomorrow I'll go to the Post Office to find out what the charge is to mail a single board. If it is less than a $1 (which I expect it will be), the cost for the first board will be $6.50. If you order 2 boards it will be $13.20, 3 boards will be $19.90 (= $6.50 x 3 + 2 x $.20) and so on. To figure out the cost it's $6.50 for each board, plus $.20 additional postage for the 2nd and each subsequent board. If the postage is more than a dollar each, I may have to re-figure the costs.?

I will give the PayPal account to use after I visit the PO tomorrow. Please use the Yahoo account above for correspondence about the board.?

Thanks!

Jack, W8TEE

Yes, which is why I'm
thinking it's the radio because
nothing happens on the
SWR bridge when I key the mic. Either
that or the unit is
defective.

My question is:
How do I verify it is the radio with
the problem?

Re: Bit of a problem?

This is SSB radio there is no carrier to drive the swr bridge. ?I insert an audio tone for checking swr.

Re: Bit of a problem?

M Garza

How are you generating the audio needed to generate the carrier?? This is a SSB radio, not AM or FM.? There is no carrier until audio is introduced into the mic.? Use a tone generator or function generator app to make a 1 kHz tone and hold it to the mic.? You should see a signal.

Hope this helps
