Re: Questions about Bitx40

Here's a picture of one of the graphics images from the software. You should be able to build what you need from the code, which I've attached.

Transmitter Not Functioning - Fixed Muting/TX switchover Issue

At the end of the year my BITX transmitter section "broke." My BITX40 would not switch to transmit, and it simply continued in the receive mode, slightly shifting frequency. I thought I had blown the final. I made it the practice to not switch off the transceiver at night, to reduce frequency shift when it powering up the next day. I had no muting function and then thought the relay K1 was bad. If you run your radio via a dry cell battery keep in mind that if the battery's voltage drops too low, the relay coil in K1 might not switch when you switch to PTT (transmit). Happily, I realized that the voltage checks of 6.50 volts on the relay were what might be causing my problem. When I put a fully charged dry cell at 12v on the BITX40 it worked like it should. Simple issue, but one I did not think of first, so I wanted to share if you find that you cannot mute your transceiver when you switch to talk. It might be a simpler problem than you think .... In my case, simply a low battery! 73 - John - w4usf

Re: Request re:filtering messages

Ok. Appears the date can be filtered. Answered my own question?

Request re:filtering messages

The move is flawless for me. Does anyone know if there is a filter the search function in messages. Example - date posted range?

thanks

BitX40 RX failure(deaf)

Hi all. I received my second BitX40 a few days ago (the original design with the veractor not the dds) hooked up the necessary wires to get it receiving an all worked ok. I had been playing with the receiver for a day or 2 comparing it with a TS830s and it seemed to work very well.

Then I decided to hook up the microphone, I connected the ptt line but not the audio input. I clicked the ptt to check it worked, there was a quite loud pop in the speaker and when it came back on RX the Bitx40 is now quite deaf. Band conditions have been poor here and there were not many signals to listen to, but ones I could just hear on the bitx were s9 on the ts830s. Has anyone else had the same experience and could point me in the right direction as to what part of the circuit is the most likely area I need to troubleshoot.

Thanks in advance

Easy Transfer

That was a seamless transfer process.? And I really like the way this database is set up, much better than Yahoo.? Jerry K5LRU

Re: Seems a successful transfer

I agree Slim, i cant believe how incredibly fast Groups.io is, especially the photo section, Wow! Day and night difference.

Re: Not so easy

Hi Bob

I haven't heard that anyone else has had problems. My QRP Labs group migrated over and there were no problems, everyone was very happy. So I'm not aware of problems...?

I suspended posts on the YahooGroup version because otherwise we will surely end up in a horrible mess where there are message archives in both places, and it will be really really troublesome to find anything then! With a clean changeover we have the advantage that the message archive (and files, folders, photos) are all consistent. Everything that was in Yahoo is now here in groups.io - and when more messages/files/photos/etc are added, everything will always be here in groups.io. The YahooGroup version remains frozen at 12-Jan-2017. Suspending posts there is necessary for consistency and sanity.?

As for copying all profiles such as passwords across. Wouldn't it be a bit worrying if your Yahoo profile password could be discovered by a third party such as groups.io? By definition a password should only ever be known to the account owner. So I assume that it will be necessary to set a new password, which I believe is done by groups.io sending a verification to your email address.?

Re: Not so easy

I just got into . Have them use your email address to log in, then set a new password. Worked fine for me!?

Moving away from Yahoo groups is a good move. But I doubt it will be without a bump or two.

I assumed all profiles password etc wou;d be changed over.? Not so.

I've been given the runaround by Groups.io following link after link.? In the end I started a new subscription.

At first I couldn't see anything but messages and then sudden;y on a message refresh all came up but then required I set a new password. This should have been made clear on the Yahoo posts.

What the heck !

A bit premature to close the Yahoo to messages.

I'm hoping this message gets through.

I've been unable to log in to Groups.io using my Yahoo account details.? It refuses to recognise them, I've submitted a new subscription so I can see things.? i.e. where are photos !

I noticed that, too. However, try looking at some photos...it's an order of magnitude faster than before.
