Re: LED for XMIT indication

Hi

There is 12 VDC across the coil when the PTT switch is pressed, closing the relay coil to GND.

A 12 V LED, which would have an internal current limiting resistor, can be connected directly across the relay.

A LED without an internal resistor will need a current limiting resistor. If the LED has a forward voltage drop of 1.7 volts. That would leave 12-1.7=10.3 volts across the resistor. Let's call it 10 volts to make it easy. And if we want about 15 mA for the current through both the LED and resistor, the resistor value is. R=V/I ?10/0.015=666 ohms. 680 ohm is a common value. Anything within 200 ohms will probably work.?

Experiment with a LED and resistor across the 12 V power supply to see what works for you.

Have fun

Hi,

Looking at the schematic looks like an easy place to add a LED would be across the relay coil. Along with a current limiting resistor in series with the LED.

How many volts are going through there? Radio Shack sells 12V red colored LED's with a resistor built into them (I use one on the heated build platform of my homebrewed 3D printer, so I know when the bed has current running through it).

Re: 3d printable enclosures?

Ultimate Box Maker has a downloadable component that works in OpenSCAD so that you can put holes, openings, and even text where you want them. Problem is, I could never figure out how to get it to do what I wanted it to do. If all you want is a box of a certain size, with a blank front and back panel, then the online customizer is fine.

Yes, C95 is 82pF, only because I did not have anymore 47pF polystyrene, also with the values I had used for C91,92 being only 680pF each, the tuning range was somewhat reduced, however I have now changed C91,92 back to 1nF, now tuning
range is from 7.007MHz to 7.268MHz, frequency stability not effected, I have 100k pot for main tuning in series with a 1k pot for fine tuning which gives 6.1kHz range. Now I can tune a conversation, go make a cuppa, come back and still be tuned to the same frequency:-)

Re: 3d printable enclosures?

Okay, someone sent me an email with questions about the Klopik-2 from Russia. I accidentally erased it while trying to reply on my phone, so please re-send it if you want me to e-mail you the documentation (whoever it was who was asking...). Yes, I do have the English documentation - I am surprised your boards did not come with that same documentation, in fact. It's not the greatest in the world, and some things got lost in the translation. It is definitely NOT a beginner's kit - in fact, I got frustrated and set it aside for a time, though I will get back to it later.

Second, I went with a DDS VFO based on the AD9850. I got it here:

Hi Rich, thanks for looking at my enclosure, It was made by the customizer box that you can read in project page. I' m waiting the additional board raduino, then I 'm planning to complete the enclosure with a drilled panel using OpenScad or experimental panel maker. Also I Will add some support stuff to hold the raduino board. These are my projects. But need the raduino board to take right measure. I'm wait the delivery.
