Si5351 calibration

Looking for a way to calibrate the si5361. I don't have a signal generator. Do have a freq counter. Read the discussion for calibrating as well as compiled the calibration sketch for the si5351 but am lost in regard on how to actual use the info in the ide monitor. Scan for a you tube example but drew a blank. The sketch I am using has an entry of 140. But the is the authors value. Help appreciated

No doubt, Jerry, I was just afraid that someone with less knowledge ( like me :) ) might order the 2n4148s without understanding the difference. 73 and thanks for advising.

Yup, 1n4148's, or whatever it was that Raj was suggesting.
Would be very tough to find some 2n4148 diodes ;-)

Raj's suggestion of two back-to-back 2n4148 diodes between K1 pin 12 and ground?puts them only in the receive signal path. ?That seems the ideal spot.?

K1 pin 14 is in the transmit signal path, a?relatively low level signal from the exciter into Q13.
Perhaps you were looking at K2 when you suggested pin 14?
K2 pin 14 is only in the receive path, but does not have the benefit of the impedance of that long trace from K2 to K1, which might keep the diodes from blowing.

Re: DDS VFO

. I found a calibration adjustment for the vfo, Instead of 27 mhz reference frequency, I adjusted it to 27010.050 which seems to put it almost dead on. I haven't really checked the transmit yet, but in a receiver it seems like it might be okay. I'll check with my friend in town later today.?

Re: A more stable Bitx40 (fun with ceramic resonators)

The 4.92 MHz resonator with C94 & C95 not removed gives about 4.8 MHz. ?The problem is that there's little variation since the varactor's capacitance swing is masked by the 100pF. ?I give some ideas for overcoming this in the video. Or maybe use a big old variable capacitor with all gangs connected together.?

As for the crystal option, two crystals in parallel in a super VXO should give a lot more than 3 kHz swing in a properly optimised VXO with the right inductance. More like 10 or 15 kHz. ?Again ideas in the video. So the 4.75 MHz crystal could be a good option if you can't get the resonator. ?

Re: DDS VFO

Okay I have the same issue with my Bitx40 and Qrp-labs Vfo combination. Currently I am running the vfo at 2khz below the desired frequency. Additionally when I transmit my ssb voice signal is clear about 1.6 khz below that. So I'm looking for some sort of adjustment for the BFO, and I see there is a spot for a variable cap that does not exist on the board. While I may have a problem with the VFO, (new software version chip on order) how do I correct the BFO issue? Do I need to add a trim cap to the bfo circuit??

Hello, someone has done some testing with this cw adapter?

Yes I did, but I initiated the transaction and so it may have confused the situation.?

I'm still curious if anyone has gotten shipping confirmation after ordering the new model. It simply may be that they are not shipping the new model yet.

I ordered mine on Dec 17 when they were on hold waiting to announce the new model and then was notified that I could order the radunco model update to go with my original order. But haven't heard anything since.
