After reading the forum, you will find answers to your questions in a lot of information. In the Home column, the last Wiki caption is where helpful information is collected.?
On the messages page, in the upper right corner, there is a search box where you can search through previous discussions on the forum. I would have been very happy when sBitx was released, you could have searched and found answers among so much information. This is Canaan for you, you just have to know how to search.

Hello.

The update doesn't work, I only get a gray lcd, and nothing on the computer. I got a USB cable with a C type with the station. So I used what I have at home. It asks if there needs to be a special cable for the update.

When working as FT8, I get a signal, but no decoding. So I don't see the signs of the stations I hear.?

What am I doing wrong.?

1). Wsjt-x only receives data if the Zbitx display is active on? my monitor.?
2). Cannot manually start rigctl if I shutdown the zbitx display. Rigctl returns network connection error.
3). With the? zbitx display window open and wsjt-x running and the mode set to digital, I cannot use the zbitx display to change bands. Band change only works if it is done via wsjt-x
4). When changing bands on wsjtx the zbitx display shows the correct band reflecting the change but wsjtx does not.
5). Receive works fine BUT cannot transmit/tune from wsjtx. I can transmit and tune from the zbitx display window but not from wsjt-x.
?
NEED HELP with number (5) and clarification with what is going on with rigctl.
I'd like to be able to start rigctl from CQRLOG and then run WSJT-X without having the zbitx display active if that is possible?
?
Thanks,
Leo? AI5II

Thanks !

Can't wait to receive my zBitx - then measure up and start designing a rugged case / frame for it. Screen cover / protection, carry handles, strain relief for cables etc.

Re: WSJT-X/Rigctl Configuration Issues - Need Info

Here is what else I am seeing (I hope this helps).
When I start wsjt-x the zbitx frequency changes to 14.074 which is the default ft8 frequency. I am able to change the zbitx band ONE time with wsjt-x to whatever e.g. 40m and the zbitx frequency changes to 7.074. But if I try to change the band again it does not work.
If I shut down wsjt-x and restart it then I have the same results. Can only make one change.
The display frequency on wsjt-x never changes.?
Transmit/tune does not work at all?

Re: WSJT-X/Rigctl Configuration Issues - Need Info

Yes I am in digi mode.

Receive works just fine. The issue is that (a) CAT is not working (b) transmit does not work (c) since cat isn't working (d) can't change band/frequency from wsjt-x.

What I did find out is that grig does work to change frequencies on the zbitx if it is started with? rigctl arguments.

So there must be something different in how fldigi
and wsjtx handle hamlib for them not to work.

Also tune does not work in FT8 mode. Works in other modes not just FT8.

Re: sBitx order?

My bad, you're right - sorry for confusion.

The best advice is to reach out to HF Signals directly at sales@... to get the correct answer

Re: WSJT-X/Rigctl Configuration Issues - Need Info

I get no rigCtl response in WSJT-X from the zBitx. RigCtl reports the connection was actively refused by the radio. WSJT-X works fine on my sBitx. I've also tried my CTR2-Micro on both radios. Same story. The sBitx works fine but the zBitx refuses to connect.

That may somewhat defeat the purpose of break-in

We had the same trouble with the sbitx until we got the software fix going. ?After that, it is really really nice for CW. ?To avoid clicks and thumps I usually set mine to break in neatly between words, but you can’t get an Icom ?to do that without having a ton of clattering. ?

I bet this will eventually get fixed.

Until everything is working perfectly, you can still make CW QSOs with a little goodwill.

This afternoon/evening, I worked with HS100IARU and 8A100IARU using just the zBitx (without any additional PA).

When using the straight key, you can hear the initial delay with the first "r." From the second "r" onward, the characters come out flawlessly (as far as I can CW, hi). Delay is set to 700.

Ashar, I tried a longer setting as you suggested, values up from 100 to 300 to 500 to 800 to 1000. It does get better as you increase the delay but is still an issue. So I did a simple test, with the radio idle I simply attempted to key an A, several times. Sometimes it missed the dit, sometimes it missed both the dit and dah and sometimes it registered the character correctly. See video I just posted

Thank you for the help. My problem is that I did not associate MACRO with the F key. I just glanced over the page.

I just did this last night, so I can tell you that it's well explained on page 15 of the manual "Editing and creating macros"

Note that on some screens you only see the first 7 macros displayed on the small screen.

Re: Tuning in cw waterfall alignment

It depend on display width. If you tune a CW signal spot on with a 2.5 kHz width it sounds great. Change display width to 6 kHz and the signal is still tuned but the blue column of filter width has shifted 200 Hz to the right. !0 kHz shifts the blue column even more.
I posted this as a code issue a few days ago.
BTW - the shift isn't just for CW, it's just easiest to see in that mode. I see the same in other modes.
