Re: zBITX CW Keyer

The new firmware v1.05 / v3.051 is slightly better than before, but since CW still doesn't work properly for me even with the new firmware, I compared it with the QCX-Mini. Both transceivers were keyed and monitored in parallel, at the same speed, using a paddle. I also tried unsuccessfully with another paddle.

?

While the QCX-Mini didn't lose any characters, the zBITX repeatedly produced errors, dots and dashes were lost or appended. This happened at slow and also faster speeds. This reminds me of my simple diy touch paddle where I always had to wet my fingers otherwise exactly such errors occurred.

?

It seems strange to me that everything works fine for other users.

?

If I use a macro from the zBITX to transmit, the zBITX keys everything flawlessly up to 50 wpm. No lost dots or dashes. How can this be, and where is the difference between keying by macro and the paddle input? I'm neither an IT nor an electronics engineer, but I would first look for the problem with the key input. Perhaps someone can explain this to me.

I have done it in different orders and no issues. Are you seeing a waterfall?

Farhan said it doesn't matter but recommended doing the RPi first.

Re: Z bitx when is the order page to re-open

Good Day Everyone:
?
I got my email notifying me that orders were being accepted at 0202 EDT, while I slept.? I ordered mine at 0635 EDT, right after getting up and getting ready for work.? My order number is #3634.? Like someone else said, "who hoo!"? It has been a long wait but well worth it.? The product is a better product for the wait.? The support on this list is wonderful.? Now I need to go and read the manual :-)
?
When you buy a loaf of bread at WalMart, it says on the package, "Baked with Love."? In this case HF Signals could say, "Soldered and assembled with Love".? :-)

I noticed that the price has increased, it's now $197.00 shipped, I'm still waiting for the US postal system to decide to deliver mine to my door. It's been stuck in Portland OR for a week now, only 350 miles from my home.

I tried to update it last night but this is what I keep getting. It is not loading the sbit software. I'm sure it's something simple to fix can you take a look at it.?

Thank you!

Re: Zbitx RPI SD-card image needed

Tilman,
have you tried switching the branch? let us give it a go while the sd card image slowly makes it to the google drive.
Here is what you do:
1. On booting up, open a terminal (like you to do update)
2. Move to the sbitx directory:
cd sbitx
3. Now, switch the branch like this:
git checkout?master
4. Run the update (note the full-stop before the /)
./update sbitx?
5. Now, run the sbitx from the same command line, like this:
./sbitx

hopeful?this will sort it out

Zbitx RPI SD-card image needed

Hi there
?
I was one of the first ordering the zbitx. Impressive little thing. I fact interesting using a RPI at the heart of the radio.

With a RPI there also comes challenges in that on can break things of not doing things/updates the right way.
With them video:s describing updates to RPI and display-controller one would belive that all is nice and dandy. And for most folks it is.?

Nevertheless, out of a sudden im not able to do a sw update to the RPI in my radio beyond version 3.021.?
The display controller is on 1.05

Occasionally the WLAN-interface is not getting a IP-address from my DHCP. And even when it gets the IP-address the DNS-settings are not always ok for name resolution.?
For all of you that want to say that I should be checking my router - NO, there is nothing wrong with that. Works fine for all my other 25 odd devices in my LAN.

So Im at a point where my zbitx is not bricked, but useless. I would need a fresh image that I can put onto the SD-card for the RPI. This has been addressed.

Maybe the root cause is that the SD-card is somewhat corrupted after all the hard power outages ?? Im not used to doing a hard power outage/shutdown to a UNIX/LINUX system like one does with the zbitx.

Any ideas ??
