Re: Sbitx v4.4 es Xiegu amp
ps.: As usual, I feed the PA from a reverse current-limiting power supply. I do this because I don't like to touch a soldering iron often for repairs.?
In my case, the PA receives 12.5V and I limit the current consumption at 12.0A.?
I don't know the operating options of the PA you wrote about, so start from a low value if you want to limit the current consumption.?
The sbitx v2 also operates with a similar current limitation. At a supply voltage of 12.5V, I limit the current consumption to 6.5A (this is a different power supply).?
I only have one antenna that can work well at 7-14-21 MHz, without an antenna tuner.?
It is an obliquely mounted delta loop, which is fed at its highest point through 2 ferrite ring joints.?
20 Watts was enough to connect to 3D2CCC (Conway Reef) from a distance of more than 16 thousand km in the summer.

Is the anyone running a Xiegu XPA125B with there Sbitx v4.4 with Jeff's QRO board? If so can you give me the "run down" do's/don'ts? Drive power ect ect... The QRO board should be here today I have an MX-P150 running, I send out a maximum of 60 Watts in FT8 mode, when the input is approx. 6 Watts.
The sbitx drive=9-10 (depending on the wave propagation) at 14 MHz, while the drive=20-22 at 21 MHz, to have a similar output power.
The sbitx retains the drive value even when turned off, but it is worth noting it and starting from a low value.

Yes, that’s what I was testing today, and just wrote about. Sorry, I think I worded it wrong. I ask that you write about your experiences with this complex callsign problem on the Discord JJ page and that there is a solution to fix the problem, because you found the github page where it is described.
When I first experienced this problem, I searched a lot to see how others were doing it. Since I couldn't find anything other than using an external program, I'm keeping quiet because that's how it works. If a coder sees the solution, they'll probably incorporate it into the code they're currently using. I think that if more people speak up on this topic, then change will happen. --

Re: When will the zbitx orders ship
Yeah, I, for one, have had stellar service from Farhan. Also, he's in India, not China, but I didn't know and don't WANT to know what he and his crew worship or the holidays they recognize. That's their business. The world is in chaos right now for a whole number of reasons. Give them a break. Push them, and THEY'LL break, and I sure as hell don't want that! So sit back, count 10 chimpanzees, eat a hamburger, and CHILL. Or should I just pull this car over right now? (Yes, this stuff is at that level. Childish.) 73, On Fri, Mar 7, 2025, 9:53?PM KF7NZ via <scadify=[email protected]> wrote:

开云体育I can understand both sides of this. However,? I do believe that a bit of transparency, more information and more frequent updates, from HF Signals would make everyone happier all around. Lately I have been wondering what's going on with HF,
and I am not even waiting on a pre-ordered unit. A few of my communications with both sales and support have gone unanswered. The zBitx and sBitx v4 are two that I am waiting to evaluate, but I can't even get everything answered in regards to my sBitx v3.
?I currently am evaluating the Lime sdr mini v2, Radioberry 2, Hackrf one, and the Pluto+/Neptune. I really want to put these HF Signals units at the top, because I love the designs, but there are several issues that are working against them.
?Anyway, that's my rant, and either way, I can't say that I will or won't sink more $$ into HF Signals, but it's still in question.?

I'm another one of the 250.? I have quite a collection of QRP and near-QRP radios (sBit, etc.) and am reviewing them for the local club newspaper.? This wouldn't look good if I mentioned it with regard to HFSignals. Gerry Sherman Sent by the Windows 11 Thunderbird On 2025-03-07 19:52, Doug Hendricks via groups.io wrote:

That's not very nice...... Give these folks a little grace.? Re: When will the zbitx orders ship
What, that a small company had some delays shipping a brand-new radio?
?
I think the ham community, in general is more patient/forgiving than you apparently think.
?
Heck, Flex had delays shipping their newest radios, Elecraft had some delays with the K4, and Icom had delays with their newest amp - this isn't really that big a deal in the grand scheme of things.
?
I *strongly* suspect you have more readers here (7,600) than the review you're writing for your local newsletter could ever dream of reaching, so the threat of bad press in a club newsletter isn't much of a motivator.

Re: When will the zbitx orders ship
Seriously?
?
It is March 7th, the last update said to expect shipment this week - and this week literally just ended.
?
Was a target missed, yes, but what is the problem, really?
?
When the radios ship, the notifications will go to the 250 purchasers, not the 7,600 list members.
?
Once orders open up after the first shipment goes out, I assume the list of 7,600 members will be notified, just like we were with the first batch on the holidays.
?
I don't understand the point of complaining here - on the maillist - when we all know the direct email address for HFSignals - sales@... if you need to be reminded - there is nothing any list member outside of HF Signals can do about the situation, so complaining to us is not really useful/productive. There is nothing the other 7,600 recipients of your message can do or say, so why include them in your message?
?
That HF Signals is a little late shipping this product is frustrating at worst, if you want an answer, why not ask HF Signals directly?
?
If I had to guess, I'd say an issue was found, changes are being made, and they don't want to give an update until they can better predict a ship date and when they will open up ordering for the next batch, but that's just guess.

When will the zbitx orders ship
We were told in Feb.
Feb. Passed, nothing shipped?
?
We were told the first of this week,? in March.? ?So far nothing shipped and no communication sent to list so that the 250 people who ordered know what is going on.? I am a patient man, but I want to know what is going on.? How long does it take to post a message here?? Less than 5 minutes.? ?Please tell us what the problem is and why you didn't ship the first part of this week as you said you would.? Thank you. |
Gordon:
Is I possible to download the CW (Decode / Encode / Keyer) portion of the sbitx software and play with these functions on a Pi 5 as I am not ready (funds) to make the leap to the radio (perhaps the radio board only minus the housing, touch screen and the raspberry Pi)
I would like to work with the keyer, decoder and encoder with my existing radio IC-7000 while I continue to save the funds.
Any assistance would be appreciated. |
Re: uBITX v6 PTT stuck
Hi Vule,
As TX disappears - I agree with Evan - relay is in this situation is most suspected. K1 is the first from the left, however also K3 - first from the right can also be the case. K1 is switching power between RX and TX blocks, while K3 is switching HF signal between RX and TX part. As Evan proposed remove the cover and try tapping K1 and/or K3 to see if it unlocks - if yes You have suspected relay.
?
Mind, replacing relay can be a challenge. Take Your time, don't hurry, try not to destroy pcb traces. There are couple ways to do that.
?
Regards
Tomasz
