Thank you, Joel.

I thought there were two 'pi in the system.

Is it possible to have JS8Call installed? Forme JS8 mode is far more important than JT9 mode as Hearteat can replace JT8 contacts and the plain use of JS8Call allows me to do real QSO with exchange of informations. I experienced a terrible civil war in New Caledonia since the 13th of May this year, with sometimes all communications lost - no more internet nor phone - and JS8Call was my only mean of communication with the outside world and it worked well with my QRP station - Hermes Lite 2 and QRP-Labs QDX which deliver 5 to 6 Watt - The small size of a zBitx with its integrated batteries would make a wonderful emergency transceiver.?
Anyway this product looks promising, congratulations f.

Re: Capacitor on irf510 sbitx

It was introduced in v3 using 510 as recommended by the forum. v2 did not use this protection.
Just replace the FETs and do the Bias adjustment. The black colored pcb is visible on v3.

Re: Capacitor on irf510 sbitx

Looked up the parts and wondered if they were only used on v2 updated to 510s or do they use those on v3 too?

The website mentions Pi Zero 2 W in the first paragraph on the zBitx page.

The zBitx breaks new barriers in price performance charts with a world class SDR with 24 bit ADC, hybrid crystal roofing filter, robust 10 watt PA and really fast Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W.

The zBitx isn't shipping till February, 2025 - I imagine there are some areas still under review and may be subject to change before the radios ship.

I can't imagine why, in a world where the Pi Zero and Pi Zero 2 are equally available, an engineer would pick the (significantly) lower-spec Pi Zero over the much more robust Pi Zero 2 W - the cost difference is a couple dollars, but the Pi Zero 2 W is essentially a low-memory RPi 3B+.

WSJT-X App

Hi JJ,
?
I have noticed that the WSJT-X app screen on the sBITX V3 doesn't render properly leaving parts of the screen unusable.? I have tried the Screen Resizer in sBITX-toolbox and have had no luck fixing the WSJT-X screen.? Any chance you could take a look at this issue?
?
Thanks.

Hi...

Can you please tell me if the Zbitx uses the Pi Zero W or 2W?

If the W, then could I replace it with the more modern 2W, if the 2W is pin and functionality [backward]upgradable.

Thank you,

Don in Austin.

The cells with built in protection circuit is longer than 65 mm and a bit of a pain.

I have one of the holders in front of me, and measuring the batteries I'm using are 65mm tall, the ones in the link you posted are 70.05mm tall. If I push the battery as far as I can toward the spring, I measure a gap of 70.0mm, so it would be tight. About the only thing you could do is try it, there might be enough tolerance between each battery holder to work. Nice batteries, by the way.
