I also use the fet method, not as simple as a diode, but voltage drop way lesd On Sat, Sep 14, 2024, 11:36?AM AndyH via <awhecker=[email protected]> wrote:

I use Powerpoles for battery and PSU connections.? I also use KC9ON's FET-based devices in place of diodes.? They're good for up to 50 V and 7 A.
?
?
There are also 'ideal diode' boards that are inexpensive.? I've not used them, yet a guy with a Swiss distortion in the signal seems to like them.?

Re: Sbitx and ad831 mixer
Farhan,?
Later I would like learn more about harmonic mixing.
?
What I think I would do is to setup the bandpass filters for 10m, 6m, 4m and 2m. If fm is added later, it will be fun to operate on those bands.
?
But before all that happens have to box everything and think about power management. There is some artifacts in the audio related to that.?
?
Thanks a lot for this amazing software that gives us the oportunity to tinker and do homebrewing easier because half of the radio is done.?
?
Thanks again,?

Re: Sbitx and ad831 mixer
Peter,?

This the normal sbitx software with audio injector card and si5351. Have two ad831 mixers and a 10.7mhz 30khz crystal filter.
To rx clock 2 goes to first mixer and bfo goes to 2nd mixer. Sound output from the mixer goes to the sound input to sbitx software.
?
To tx clock 1 bfo goes to 1st mixer and clock 2 to 2nd mixer. Audio output from sbitx sound card goes to 1st mixer, same input from antenna in rx. The antenna is switch to the output of the 2nd mixer.
?
To do the clock swap and antenna switching im using two small relays.

Re: Sbitx and ad831 mixer
This is a nice setup, can you explain it in a bit more detail, what frequencies are you running on each mixer, I assume the second one is a fixed frequency, and are you pushing the output into something like a zbitx to generate the waterfall ? Re: Sbitx and ad831 mixer
With the AD831 mixer, you should be able to use 3rd harmonic mixing and go upto 435 Mhz On Sat, Sep 14, 2024, 6:07 PM WP3DN via <3voltios=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: Sbitx and ad831 mixer
Incredible! Have you tried SSB? That is the proof of overall linearity. What is your bandpass filter? On Sat, Sep 14, 2024, 7:44 AM WP3DN via <3voltios=[email protected]> wrote: |

I'm mentioning about the 20Watt amp that I have and uBITx board I built and I am/was looking for advice on the predriver stages. This is not a kit and is my bespoke build. Re: Renewed attempt to hack together a workable PA
As often happens on the group, we seem to have several threads running simultaneously. I believe Bill was responding to my post about the prospective board and semi-kit buyer list that was in operation in 2023 and earlier this year. I agree with you fully Bill, no more lists.

Too bad. It would be an instant success.
I can only think HF Signals cannot afford the little investment required (which is not so comforting...) |

The code base is the same. Checkout the.farhandev branch of sbitx repository On Fri, Sep 13, 2024, 10:22 PM Charudatt Uplap via <charudattu=[email protected]> wrote:

Hi Farhan? The OLED support looks promising and suitable to.? You said you'd be sharing the code during one of your submission, still waiting for it. Happy to share, Nick Kennedy surely succeeded in realising your idea on zBITX and I'm happy about?it. He's also stuck at getting the OLED display to work. Could you please be kind enough to show us the way to get it to work. Charudatt - VU2UPX? On Fri, 13 Sept, 2024, 9:23 pm Ashhar Farhan via , <farhanbox=[email protected]> wrote:

I soldered in a 20 amp diode(20A10) as a reverse shunt; it's what I had laying around.? Note that the markings on the sBitx circuit board where the power comes in are reversed.? That plus sign on the board should be a negative.? I know the solder job looks bad but I did put a lot of heat to it.? I just couldn't get it shiny.? What is good about this diode is it can trip the circuit breaker on my 20 amp Astron before I even turn the sBitx power on.? I still went ahead and added a 10 amp blade fuse to the external power pigtail for extra protection. |
