I just loaded the new 64 bit "Field Day" release and it seems to work well except for WSJT. The audio is fine, but there is no cat control. The Network Server is set to Hamlib NET rigctl and I tried Network Server addresses 127.0.0.1 and 127.0.0.1:4532, which both fail Test Cat.

John,
Bookworm is also constantly being developed, as is a newer version from sBitx. Currently the latest sb64p1.img is the 64-bit version. I recommend that you do not overwrite the old SD card, but get a new SD card or a fast USB stick. If you have several versions on different cards, you can compare which one is better for you. By the way, it is advisable to make a backup, then you can easily return to the well-functioning version in case of an irreparable error. If you buy a USB stick, you have to make the RPi4 smart so that it can work. This is my opinion. -- Gyula HA3HZ |

Thanks, JJ.? I had the HF Signals 3.01 version on my SD card and used it to format and partition a USB disk (128 Gig) to download sb64rc1.img.xz onto the USB disk.? Used Balena to make the 64 bit version, and then removed the SD card from the RPi.? Booted from USB and got the 64 bit version running.? Then ran ./update to run the 3.025 that you just distributed (Field Day version), and the new sbitx version is 3.25 is listed on the welcome text part of sbitx program when run.??
I'm suspecting I should have used sb64p1.img. Right? I suppose I can go back and do it over again, rebuilding with the different one--the sb64p1.img.?? Told you I'm a nobie, not even a newbie.? What are your thoughts? Kindest regards, John W9NET |

I wonder how well these would work with all the RFI inside the sBitx. Shorter, shielded connections are better, IMO. |

The idea this group gave me was to do all my testing using a USB drive. When I get what I want as my final version, I can put that on a MicroSD drive and get rid of the USB drive. Anyone know a source of a cable like the AWM 20706 in small quantities? 73, Bruce |

JJ,
So am I understanding you right? You never have a micro sd card inside the unit and only run it from the usb? If that works well, that would eliminate huge frustrations!? Changes could be so much easier. The only downside seems to be? wear on
the usb and possible damage of breakage.?

That can be frustrating.. Here is what I do for testing and normal operation.. I remove the microSD card from the Pi, then write the img file to a low profile USB drive then plug it into the USB port. -JJ |
