Re: #sBitx receive birdie? 600 Hz above carrier
#sBitx
I have a similar spur on my sBitx V2 except the frequency is 1070 Hz above the carrier. Does anyone have suggestions how to troubleshoot this?

Re: sBitX-V3, what is the performance, support, price and weight?
For the transmitter? I set it to around 4 or 5 watts. I do have a small hf solid state amp connected as well? to bring the power up to 40? or 50 watts. Keeping the sbitx tx output low allow me to run ft8 modes for hours, an transmitter? heatsink stays cold. The? solid state amp is built for 150 watts? so running it in 50 watt range, is keeping both devices way under their capabilities. I have run this type of setup on my digital modes for years with no tx failures.. Joe VE1BWV? On Mon, May 27, 2024, 1:57?p.m. waara09 via <waara09=[email protected]> wrote:

Re: FT8 app features
David,
Read this topic. What LOG program did you try to use? For me, cqrlog v2.5.2 works on the 64-bit OS. Installation is easy from the Add a program menu. -- Gyula HA3HZ |
Re: FT8 app features
Is there a tutorial on how to configure WSJTX?on the sBitx somewhere? I have not used it as it is not connected from what I can tell. I have just been using the built-in functionality of Ashar's code and it has been working for me, but if there was a tutorial somewhere to decipher how to get this working, I would love to use it in the shack... I am looking forward to giving your 64 bit version a try with the next release too, I just could not get the logbook to work with the previous version so I fell back to the 32 bit version for now and am having good results with it. Thank you for all your hard work on building this software. Your best bet is to use JTDX or WSJTX on the sBitx and then you can also use GridTracker as well. The next release of my 64 bit image will include GridTracker installed and preconfigured. I also will provide EchoLink client and FreeDV mode in the next release. |
Re: uBitxV6 transmit audio is thick
Hello Ashok,
A thicker or deeper voice would be a BFO setting issue.? The best way to set the BFO is to tune to a static-only frequency and use an audio spectrum analyzer to center the noise plateau.? Ashher Farhan has a video on calibrating the V6: You do not need to do all three steps, only the last step.? Unfortunately, the BFO Tuning aid no longer works.? There are free PC-based programs that can be used: or I use the Windows version in the second URL. You want the plateau centered between 300 and 3000 Hz. 73 Evan AC9TU |
uBitxV6 transmit audio is thick
Hi all,
When I transmit in my uBitx V6, the others have complained that my voice heard thicker than the normal voice. Few also sent me recording and I can confirm that my voice heard thicker. Is this a issue with BFO tuning or something else ? Do i need to re calibrate BFO ? Regards Ashok |
Honestly Jeff, Thank you for the offer, but I’m super happy with the board as is. The position of the cable causes absolutely no issue for me. ? |

JJ a request ,at the next upgrade solve and problem sBitx version 3.02 on DE transmit switching problem possibly with the solution found by Jula(HA3HZ)Do as I do. Use v3.02 and replace sbitx_sound.c with 3.01.Thank you!I can include a script to easily convert the sound file for those on older hardware. Thanks for the suggestion! 73, JJ Visit my repo at??for sBitx tools and software. |
Thanks for the kind words Jon!!? I ended up getting more boards that will let you decide if you want to have the connector on the right or left side.? Jon and Evan, if you guys would rather have the other board, let me know and I'll send those out.? Anyone else, you get to pick which one you want!.? Head on over here:?

Re: sBitX-V3, what is the performance, support, price and weight?
Power is adjustable. I have operated my v2 for 6 months or so. No operation issues. I run the digital modes for weeks at a time 24-/7 Power reduced to about 5watts with a small hf amp to bring it to around 40watts when needed.? WJST-X,? WSJT-Z?? GRIDTRACKER For voice, I changed to a better condenser mic and the issues were cleared, with good reports. My overall experience has been very good performance. I have a pi4 with 4gig mem Reasonably priced.. I am looking at purchasing a second one. The board kit only. From what I seen, yes there are issues, however, it is more of a experimental radio at this stage and each issue is being corrected. The sensitivity of the tx power transistors to be easily destroyed has been an issue but each revision? has made it better, hopefully some more hardware or software revisions? will? eliminate this completely. I am looking forward to the stage when the unit? can run ssb completely remote thru a browser and not thru a separate remote pgm. Over time? hopefully we will see more control buttons / options. I see many additional developers? and am greatful, they are willing to share? their expertise. Support is always an issue with a developing product , it could certainly be better and can be very frustrating. Hopefully, as an experimental rig, we will see? better schematics,? with test points, voltages, current readings,? etc. This will come with time. Performance 8 Price 7 Support 5 Joe VE1BWV?
