Re: sBITX V3 output 6 watts
I assume you have a factory V3 and good SWR or a dummy load attached.? If you don't have a factory V3 this doesn't apply.
Select the CW or CWR mode, set the DRIVE to 100 and then hold the PTT on the mic.? Then while transmitting, slide the speaker volume icon slider up, the Raspberry Pi OS one up in the upper right hand corner of the desktop next to the OS clock, not the sBitx volume.? If you slide that up during transmit does your power level go up to something reasonable?? If yours is like mine was you will have to slide the system volume up during each and every single transmit. If that is your problem, I can tell you what I had to do to fix mine. |

Re: sBITX V3 output 6 watts
if you copy v2 folder to v3 most you'll definitely get weird power output, as the calibration is different.

Re: sBITX V3 output 6 watts
Since your previous question was about that, yes. According to them, you have a v3 that has an IRF510.
If you measure a short on either, replace both. If you have a measuring instrument, choose two FETs with nearly the same opening voltage. Before turning on the power again, set the current limit to 2.00 A. First turn the BIAS potentiometer in the CCW position to GND. To adjust the quiescent current of the FETs: SbitX SSB mode, Drive=1, Mic=0 Freq=7035kHz ANT= 50 Ohm 50W dummy load When the PTT is pressed, the quiescent current consumption during transmission is 0.85A. This value must be increased by setting the Bias pot to 1.35A. You need the current-limiting power supply so that you don't destroy the FETs again with the setting. -- Gyula HA3HZ |

sBITX V3 output 6 watts
开云体育I’m running 64k version of Raspberry Pi and my output is a max of 6 watts into a dummy load.? My V2 is running the same SW and it’s output is 40 watts.? Not sure how to go about troubleshooting.? Checked the board ad all looks well. ? Any thoughts. ? Tnx, ? Tom? KT4XN ? ? |
Jack, It comes as a single board radio and it is also available as a fullt assembled radio in a nice and heavy gauge aluminium chassis with a capacitive touch screen and raspberry pi 4. Thank you Ashar. That is a feature I have never noticed. Hopefully I can get some radio play time again soon...staying extremely busy with home chores. Scotty WD4PYT? On Wed, May 15, 2024, 12:03 AM Ashhar Farhan via <farhanbox=[email protected]> wrote:

Using SSTV with sBitx radio
#sBitx
Using SSTV with sBitx radio
Nothing special happened. I only used the sBitx as a radio in USB mode and a laptop running mmsstv YoniQ 1.13.3 on Windows 10. This is an mmsstv version modified by a Spanish programmer. The sstv program must be installed on the laptop. And the sound card is a small card using USB CM108, which wb2cba described in another topic. The sound card creates the ptt path, but it requires maximum volume from the laptop to work properly. MMSSTV YoniQ link: WB2CBA sound card: I think that decoding sstv requires a well-functioning external cpu, the RPi would not be able to do that. When I took the images, the whole screen would often go black while correcting the sync and redrawing the image. In some pictures, the mode selection is incorrect. I did 14 qso's with 20 watts here in Europe. I was a little nostalgic because I built my first sstv receiver converter 39 years ago. (G3WCY rx, then 2 years later G4ENA tx converter). I tried to use the previously used MMSSTV templates, some modifications had to be made. Important note: use this mode for broadcasting only at your own risk! For me, sBitx works with several modifications, so it is important to cool the heat-producing components during the 110-120 second broadcast. It's also a good idea to monitor the RPi's CPU temperature, as W9JES did on the 64-bit system. Use the power supply with current limitation. For me, it is limited to 6.0 Amps, and only after 4,000 QSOs did I increase the current draw to 6.3 A (+5%). The first picture I took with this composition. Later I synchronized the clock signal of the sound card. I am currently using sBitx with these modifications. Preparing the USB sound card. -- Gyula HA3HZ |
开云体育All the parts are in and I tested the board. All looks good except I should have had the connector go out the other side. I had to add a couple washers to allow enough room for the metal plate on the side, but that's no big deal.? I'll include
the washers to make it work.? If I sell enough of them, I'll do a board spin and swap the connector.?
They are listed on Etsy. You can get just the bare board, board and loose parts, or an assembled board.?
This is my first time doing an Etsy store so please be patient with me while I figure it out.?

Status update: I have the bare pcbs and encoders. Just waiting for the connectors to show up early next week so I can do a quick test to make sure I didn't mess up. I'm setting up an Etsy store, as this is an entry into hopefully more radio
things (working on low cost band pass filters). Stay tuned, if all goes well mid to late next week they should be ready.

Re: sbitxx switches
The switches are connected but they dont do much. The function button, when pressed, shifts the focus to audio control so you can quickly change the volume. The tuning knob is unsed On Tue, May 14, 2024, 8:54 PM Scotty R via <Theroadcalls1=[email protected]> wrote:

Another option is a case from Aliexpress that I've used, from David's?post here: ?/g/BITX20/topic/103816767#msg1108115. His build is a lot tidier than mine!
