uBITX V6 Stuck on band

My uBITX had been working just ok for it and I went to turn it on this morning and I'm stuck on 20 Meters. I'm using a 2.8" Nextion display. I try to use the band up and band down buttons and the do not work. I try direct entry and that does not work. Not sure what else to try

Morse decoding.

Thanks for the invite guys. My sBitx v2 came on Wednesday, and superb at the moment. Just a problem with Morse decoding, it worked great at first, now I can't seem to see any at all???

Re: IRFZ24N #sBitx

When I look at the data sheet for the IRFZ24, the typical Ton/Toff delay times add up to about 40 nsec, which I think translates roughly to about 25 MHz.? That seems to me to be a bit marginal.? I assume that the factory outgoing tests assure that shipped units meet the 40 watt power spec on all bands, but since there is no maximum Ton/Toff delay times spec'd by the manufacturer I wonder if the folks who have had to replace their PA FETS might get units that don't actually give full output.

Or is my math (or understanding) wrong?

Thanks for any clarification.

Dave?? AB7E

Re: Proper power cal on DE running V2 software? #sBitx #sbitx_v2

Okay, I did it! It turned out great, about 30 watts at 100% drive for most bands except 12 and 10 meters are about 20 but that¡¯s perfect for me. Thanks for these cool radios.

Re: uBitx V6 power connector

I don't know what the original connectors are or if these will be "more reliable" but the price is right and they are sold as sets:? ?

Many similar online options to choose from.
I have replaced a couple of my original connectors with "connector sets" like these.? Can't remember which eBay vendor I got mine from but using the matching parts has worked fine for me.
Good luck.

Subject: [BITX20] uBitx V6 power connector

The power connector has proven to be unreliable.? Readily available 5.5mm x 2.5mm connectors have too large a center pin and although the power works, it is unreliable and intermittent if unless you take great care to keep it aligned.? Special order 5.5mm x 2.1mm standard connector is also unreliable and I can visually see that the center pin on the stock V6 is smaller than 2.1mm.

?

What is this connector?? Can somebody provide the technical spec?? Better yet, can somebody describe the connector that I can replace it with a more reliable design?

?

Thanks

Re: Proper power cal on DE running V2 software? #sBitx #sbitx_v2

Joel,
The way to do that is to just edit the text file hw_settings.ini. You don't need to know programming.
In this file, there is one section for each band and for each band, there is an entry called scale. Bump up the scale by 20%, save the file and restart the sbitx, test the power output, you will have to tweak each band similarly.
The txcal does this automatically as v2 monitors the power output.

I am no longer having this problem on my DE after Farhan's latest update, 6/14/23, now power output seems very stable. I would still prefer a easier way to calibrate the power output for the DE similar to TXcal. Ultimately I would like both my V2 and my DE to have the same power outputs at selected drive levels. I realize I am at the mercy of those who can code, (I cannot), so thanks to all that contribute their skills, it keeps getting better.

sBITX V2 serial # 001 Current Status and question #sbitx_v2

Hi all,?

After resolving my update woes (thanks Art N2AJO !!) I feel things are pretty stable.

I know that the rig should be capable of upwards of 40 Watts on the lower bands. I'm not seeing that at 100% drive.
Here is what I'm seeing, which I'm happy with, but would like to know if I need to tweak anything or look for a problem:
(Into a fairly resonant antenna on most bands but tuned to close to 1:1)
BAND? ? ? ? ? WATTS
80? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?15
40? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?18
30? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?20
20? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?21
17? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?12
15? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?12
12? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?10
10? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?11

I would say accuracy is + or - 2 Watts with this setup.
Sorry, I have misplaced my dummy load.

Anyway, is there anything I should be doing or looking at.? Otherwise, I'm enjoying the rig.

Re: sBitx Issue After Upgrade #sBitx

If you remember, I had reported self oscillations in the PA for a few microseconds at TX to RX and RX to TX transitions the PA as well as T/R switch are both switch on, creating a feedback loop. This was causing harmful self oscillations.
The way to break this was to break the feedbacks loop, we are switching off the LPFs during the transitions. In the previous commit, I had skippee turning on the LPFs. This didn't matter in the v2 where the tr switch is connected on the antenna side of the LPFs, the DE's tr switch is on the PA side of the LPFs.
To see what has changed between two updates, you can first list the commits with "git log", and then try "git diff check1 check2" where check1 and check2 are the first few letters of the checksums of the commits listed by git log.
