uBitx V6 power connector

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

The power connector has proven to be unreliable.? Readily available 5.5mm x 2.5mm connectors have too large a center pin and although the power works, it is unreliable and intermittent if unless you take great care to keep it aligned.? Special order 5.5mm x 2.1mm standard connector is also unreliable and I can visually see that the center pin on the stock V6 is smaller than 2.1mm.

?

What is this connector?? Can somebody provide the technical spec?? Better yet, can somebody describe the connector that I can replace it with a more reliable design?

?

Thanks

sBITX V2 serial # 001 Current Status and question #sbitx_v2

Hi all,?

After resolving my update woes (thanks Art N2AJO !!) I feel things are pretty stable.

I know that the rig should be capable of upwards of 40 Watts on the lower bands. I'm not seeing that at 100% drive.
Here is what I'm seeing, which I'm happy with, but would like to know if I need to tweak anything or look for a problem:
(Into a fairly resonant antenna on most bands but tuned to close to 1:1)
BAND? ? ? ? ? WATTS
80? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?15
40? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?18
30? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?20
20? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?21
17? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?12
15? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?12
12? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?10
10? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?11

I would say accuracy is + or - 2 Watts with this setup.
Sorry, I have misplaced my dummy load.

Anyway, is there anything I should be doing or looking at.? Otherwise, I'm enjoying the rig.

Re: sBitx Issue After Upgrade #sBitx

If you remember, I had reported self oscillations in the PA for a few microseconds at TX to RX and RX to TX transitions the PA as well as T/R switch are both switch on, creating a feedback loop. This was causing harmful self oscillations.
The way to break this was to break the feedbacks loop, we are switching off the LPFs during the transitions. In the previous commit, I had skippee turning on the LPFs. This didn't matter in the v2 where the tr switch is connected on the antenna side of the LPFs, the DE's tr switch is on the PA side of the LPFs.
To see what has changed between two updates, you can first list the commits with "git log", and then try "git diff check1 check2" where check1 and check2 are the first few letters of the checksums of the commits listed by git log.

Where was the problem?? Something controlled by CAT?? Just curious.

Scott and others,
I have fixed this issue in the latest update. Can you try it and let me know?

Scott,
the problem could be in the software. What is probably happening is that the relays need to be switched back to the appropriate LPF after tx to rx transition is complete.

Hi Guys,

I've run into a curious problem.? I have been running WSJT-X with my sBitx DE successfully for months.? My DE feeds a pair of 20M Hamsticks in a dipole arrangement through a ATU-100EXT tuner which displays a SWR of 1.06.? Historically, this gives me good performance but not since the latest V2 build.

After installing the latest V2 (with Ashhar's software wave shaping fix), I've noticed that once a WSJT transmission is completed, receive mode does not activate and the waterfall is blank.? If I manually tune the receiver one click in either direction, I hear a relay change state and the waterfall begins.? Obviously, this is not normal behavour but I am curious on how to proceed.? My thought is to revert back one revision and retest but I do not know how to do that.? My second though is to reload the entire image (I wish I had save one) but again, I do not know how this is done.

Has anyone seen this or have a suggestion?

Thanks, Scott?

Re: The content of hw_settings.ini is incorrect #sbitx_v2

Thank you very much for answering my request.
For me, the comparison of the two ini files looks like this after I performed the May 4 update, then the SWR/Power meter calibration and finally performed the txcal on all bands. As described step by step. Something is not right.

Hi Ashhar,

Just add hw_settings.ini on a line by itself in the .gitignore file.

Hello Gyula,

My sBitx v2 broke the final and I ended up having a new board sent to me.
It just arrived yesterday, so it has probably been adjusted.
The settings are as follows.

I'll help you: the files are in the /home/pi/sbitx/data/ folder and you can copy them to a usb stick with the file manager.
Or you can click on the file to view its contents and take a picture of it with the Print screen.

This is a brand new SBITX transceiver made in India by Farhan. This transceiver runs 20 to 40 W output, depending on the band covers, all modes including digital modes and includes a built-in raspberry pi4 computer. It has many advanced features, including digital modes, built-in, logging And full spectrum SDR display It can be used fully remote control with your tablet or other device over wifi ! This is latest version. Factory assembled with raspberry pi4 included and installed.

K9UR purchased this at Hamvention last month and then sold it to me. You can trace the provenance of the radio by going to his??and seeing my response to the sale below the photo. I have not powered it up. I was and am enthusiastic for the idea of an open hardware/software radio, but I lack both the hardware and software skills to use this new radio effectively. My aspirations overpowered common sense.

You¡¯ll get the item still in the original box with all items that come with it including hand mic, power cable, spec sheet, instruction manual, and the radio. .

Re: sBitx Issue After Upgrade #sBitx

Hi Ashhar,

That sounds like what'is happening.? When I change the frequency, I definately hear a relay change of state.

Also, before the recent software upgrade, when I powered down the sBitx, I would hear a relay change in state when I powered down the RPi but now I do not.? Maybe I am wrong but I used to wait for the "click" to power off the set.? Since the upgrade, I don't hear that click unless I change the frequency before power down.

How shoulkd I fix this?? Edit a few lines of code or wait for a fix?

Thanks, Scott? ?

Re: QSSTV sound card configuration and other software #sbitx_v2

Hi Gyula,

Thank you for reply, But I'm not sure that it will help, as today I investigate the routine of the Sbitx .
As I'm not so familiar with the Raspberry pi "batch file", I just explain what I Think is the problem.
If I'm running any other software that use the sound card (Qsstv or WXJT), and after that I'm running the sBitx software, the radio is stack.
I't looks like the sBitx , execute also the FLdigi, and not let other software to use the sound card.

Thank you
