Re: sbitx v2 power output
Well, I can't go back to the original software. It seems that Win32DiskImager did not properly image the contents of the sd card that came with my sBitx. I am in the process of installing the V2.1 image that Farhan posted. I know I have to recalibrate the tx levels, and that's OK. But this question remains unanswered... To safely use v2.1 of the software, do I have to make the hardware mod with Q10 and?pin 36 of the Pi connector? Thanks. Don? With the caveat that I know this is *not* a classic uBITX, and I didn’t see the prior thread where you probably gave more relevant details… so my comments are probably not useful ;-) Turns out it *appears* to have been a bad sis5351. At least replacing that was the last thing I tried before I could get any output on ssb and RX. All appears to be well after that replacement.?

Re: hamvention 2023
my sBITx works great, my friend bought just the board kit
he used his own raspberry pi 4. I think his pi-4 may be messed up, not the sd card that came with the kit. when I have time I will try and help him. again it was my pleasure meeting you. I hope your trip back is a safe one. Pete KB8EMD? |

I understand. Use a properly sized wire jumper from one solder point to another solder point.
I'm sorry you had to go through this. Don't give up... -- Gyula HA3HZ |
Re: hamvention 2023
Pete, The source code is already inside the raspberry pi. It is in the directory of /home/pi/sbitx. Github charges money for private accounts. Sbitx is a public repository that can be accessed for free. Go to and download the source code. - f On Sat, May 20, 2023, 10:20 PM Pete <pete4330@...> wrote: Today, Saturday May 20, 2023? |

Hello Gyula, I will contact support. In the meantime, I have ordered the FETs and will see if I can replace them myself. But it may be difficult since some of the board patterns are burned out. Ichiro JE1JGC 2023年5月21日(日) 15:43 HA3HZ <gyula@...>: Hello Ichiro, |

Re: sbitx v2 power output
The screws were and are tight. I'm not sure which forum post you're referring to...I found one about 'for testers only', 'death by calibration'. For now, I'm going to reload the original software. after placing a pair onto the power leads plug them into a power supply I?hooking up an antenna? opened the manual read, ok glanced at it waited for raspberry-pi to boot, lots faster than my pi-zero dmr hotspot? I live about 10 miles from the Xenia fairground and my first SSB contact? was with a ham sitting in his car parked in the handclapped parking lot at Hamvention? yep a whole 10 miles?not really DX, but the bands are bad.? next contact was using FT-8 VU2ESS INDIA that's DX 1800 miles.?? my friend bought the board he needs the source code? he said github wanted $29, could this be true? Hello Gyula I checked the FET and it seems to be broken. It seems a bit out of my control. Can you fix it with HFSIGNALS? Ichiro JE1JGC |

At txcal, the output stage is adjusted per band, which is protected by ALC.
It protects when the hardware is fine. Something happened with the hardware here. The FETs have become shorted or something similar. Check that the FETs are OK. Check that the screw holding the FETs to the heatsink is in place. I would check those first -- Gyula HA3HZ |

开云体育I tried the manual’s recommended setting of 25 and there was basically nothing. Bumped up to 50 and there was some slight deflection. Checking the CW on the watt meter it looks like I’m getting max of 8-10 into a dummy load.?On May 20, 2023, at 3:56 AM, Ashhar Farhan <farhanbox@...> wrote:

Re: #sbitx disk image for software v2.1
#sBitx
Hi Farhan, You may wish to consider using the 'Raspberry Pi 'SD card copier' next time to duplicate the image to a smaller SD Card see: . The SBITX card image can then written to any size SD Card - provided the contents fit. When reinserted into the Pi in the SBITX, the partitions can then be resized to the full size of the card easily using the 'raspi-config' program

#sbitx_v2 When I performed "txcal", the power suddenly turned off.
#sbitx_v2
Hi everyone,
After performing "Calibrating the SWR/Power meter", I could only get 20W output at 7MHz. When I performed "txcal", the power suddenly turned off.
It seems that the protection of the stabilized power supply worked.
Then, when I tried to use the battery, I had to stop because of smoke.
When I opened the case, the pattern was on fire as shown in the picture below.
What is wrong with this?

Reed, can you check the mic gain? There is as manual with the box. - f On Fri, May 19, 2023, 11:09 PM john.bumgarner via <john.bumgarner=[email protected]> wrote:

Straight out of the box I hooked up to LiFePo battery and mag loop antenna. I can hear 20 m CW and sideband and get TX power out onCW but not seemingly on usb. I tried adjusting the drive and tried both the built in mic and the supplied mic, but no joy. Appreciate any suggestions.? also is there a tutorial on how to navigate thru the screen? Reed AA1RB |
