Re: uBITX Digital Adapter Board pinouts
What ubitx do you have? I'm betting you did not make it and that its a Chinese copy from ebay? I have a V5 board and box. Everything has to be wired by hand. CAT control for mine is directly on the Radiuno board buried inside the box. The Digital Adapter Board brings out USB/AF/etc to a set of connectors at the back - once you wire them up. |

With respect, Jeff, you'll not get BITX20 community review if you post something to a discord group most here don't use.? Why not post it here?Andy, it's his decision to do as he chooses. If you have an issue with it, consider creating something yourself and sharing it here, instead of derailing others' threads with irrelevant comments. You could have sent him a private message, which is a feature available on 开云体育. I don't think anyone here should assume the authority to give orders to others. ?

Unfortunately, the chat feature doesn't work on 开云体育. There's also a separate Facebook group managed by someone else. Therefore, saying these platforms are useless is unfounded. I do agree that the information here is searchable, especially via search engines, whereas Facebook and Discord are not. However, Discord offers additional benefits, such as screen sharing, real-time chat, and the ability to assist each other quickly. These are valuable supplementary features to this group. ?

Re: V3 Desktop Time Incorrect
I had this same problem with computer time not in line with local time.
UTC time was correct but local time was 2 to 3 hours off. I located the .profile file
and at first changed the “Phoenix” location to my EST of “New York”.
This gave me UTC time on the sBitx app and UTC on my computer.
?I then commented out the entire line and rebooted.
The UTC stayed the same but now I have my local time on the computer which is?
what I was desiring to accomplish.? Thank you for the good information.? Daryl, N4NVS |

Re: JTDX
Apologies ahead to the fact that this isn't a sBitx related question.
?
I am building the latest JTDX from (eforge.net/projects/jtdx-improved/files/jtdx_2.2.159/Raspberry%20Pi/) on my RPi5(8gb)
?
However, the title bar is missing from the main window, but it's present on the Waterfall Window. This works just fine on RPi4(8gb).
?
None of the keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl+space or Alt+space doesn't work on main windows.?
?
The main window looks like it's "Undecorated"
?
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Can you send the updated link?
|
This *can* be an email feed. I have all except admin messages turned off, and read what I want, when I want, on the website. It's also where the wiki, files, and search lives. There's also a chat function here!
?
I use discord as well (and IRC!), but it's/they're useless for anything where one wants to maintain "corporate knowledge" older than a day or three.? It also fragments the info, ultimately making it harder for new folks to find info they need.
?
I'm still studying posts here from many years ago as I slowly learn how to design and tweak the blocks for my multiple uBITX radios. I'd never be able to find similar info from more than a couple of weeks in a discord channel.? I used to coordinate with remote team members on discord and IRC...both are impaired relative to this platform.

Ravi,
?
Do not go above 28V unless you have lots of spares.
?
But so you know I've seen at 20V 25W during testing and for fun
and attempted destruction 28V where I got 40W easily.? ?
NOTE: you need about 4X the heatsink area or more to stay
up there.? ?Adding a copper heat spreader helps.? at 24V when
no signal TX 6W of heat (due to bias current).? ?That high the
BS170s are working at fairly high voltage.

I don't think the main dev team has any current plans for improvements to the keyer, so I have been working on a solution that I hope they can integrate.?
?
The CW keyer does appear to rely on the 10-20 Hz modem polling function, which I think is too slow and is the source of our issues. I am trying to implement a different approach that relies on instantaneous RPi GPIO interrupts to bypass this function. This is the approach that many of the home-brew Arduino code oscillators use, and it seems to work very well in those devices. I am not sure yet whether interrupts will cause other issues in the sBitx software, we will see.?
?
I am not a professional coder, though, so it has taken me a bit of time to read and understand how the CW keyer code works. Will try to implement something in the next couple of weeks. Will report back on this thread soon.? |

sBitX v3 for sale
Hi,
?
I am selling my xBitX v3, only bought (ordered) 05-21-24 directly from HF Signals.
?
I thought I would use it more but find my IC-705 and SDR Control (MacOS) easier, or I should say more familiar.
?
It has JJ's 64Bit OS and corresponding sBitX version, haven't updated to recent release.
?
I will include a USB drive with the config & settings backuped and a 50ohm dummy load.
?
It is in its origanl packing box with the paper work showing the calibration settings and package content.
?
I am looking for ?350, saving import duty, I am in the UK.? Can post (?10 Special Delivery) or collection.? International would depend on shipping costs.
?
Also, if interested I have two Zeee Power 3S LiPo 5200mAh with an ISDT Q6 Nano charger and cables for ?75.00 plus ?5 postage.

zBitx crowdfunding
#poll-notice
Assuming the designer promotes the initiative,
would you partecipate in crowdfunding the production of q.ty 100 batch of an assembled version of the zBtix? The crowdfunding would be of the all-or-nothing, reward kind, so no charging would take place if the goal is not reached, but there is no guarantee the production would actually start if the goal is reached. Tentative goal: 20,000USD (to be defined). (so the funds provided by the participants would be about 200USD each) The reward would be a discount coupon, for the same amount, on the purchase of a completed / tested unit (tentative price 300USD). All the results of the project would be published as open source. What is the zBitx:? What is crowdfunding: Comments from Ashhar Farhan: /g/BITX20/message/113592 /g/BITX20/message/113620
Thank you for voting.

sBitx_log file export into cqrlog without GRID - partially solved
Today I made some QSOs and first edited the exported adif file using Notepad++.
I renamed STX_STRING to my gridsquare and I renamed SRX_STRING to gridsquare after that I copied it back to the RPi and imported it into cqrlog. ?
Data that was missing until now appeared in the GRID cells.
The names stx_string and srx_string were, in my opinion, poorly and arbitrarily chosen by sbitx. I suggest that the coders consider correcting the names if possible.
