Re: cat and digital
should add that I put in two 1:1 audio transformers in line for isolation and a used a dpdt switch to move it between digital and voice mode. On a second one I used a stock relay to do the dpdt

Re: cat and digital
I use a usb sound card mounted in the case and just run two usb cables to the computer. The normal computer functions with the built in sound card and the radio is assigned to the usb card.

Re: cat and digital
The CAT functions are done through the USB port on the Arduino Nano.? The sound is through the audio and mic out of the uBitx into the computer through a sound card.? I will be trying it with a

Re: Looking for a ubitx
If you use DHL shipping you would get the kit faster than buying a used unit via UPS or USPS. mine took 4 days. There wasnt but one day required for packing (they say 1 week now.

cat and digital
Can someone tell me if I need a cat cable to the computer or is it handled through the US port on the arduino?
Does the digital mode need a sound card or is it handled via USB?

Re: Transmitter Mods
I'd love to send you a SASE for parts to do your TX mod.? How do I get your call sign info for a QRZ/address lookup?
Please forgive my stupidity (as I don't do a lot of forums).

Re: Spurs/Harmonics fixes for v4 based on v5 board design?
I would verify the frequency coverage.? Otherwise not sure that the extra 4 bits are going to be worth the $90 increase in cost.? So far the 12bit RSP2 seems to do what I need.
Both currently have

Re: Spurs/Harmonics fixes for v4 based on v5 board design?
What do folks think about the airspy to analyze spurs/harmonics?? Claim is 18bit DDC is that better than the 14bit RSP1A for sdrplay?

Thanks.? Good news is I am using their low pass filters actually not their band pass filters, so should be ok.

Re: started
Yep, get or build yourself a regulated supply. A walwart of several amps and adequate voltage could be regulated by adding a regulator and filter caps.

I tend to do that with some things.
That's why I have not had any of my BITX40's on the air yet.
Plus, the first one sounded like the VFO was wandering back and fort.

Dave
Signal strength should be adequate for this method if you are transmitting
into
a dummy load. In fact this is the preferred method. The received signals

Re: Spurs/Harmonics fixes for v4 based on v5 board design?
I'm hoping the SDRPlay can measure the power difference db for spurs, it would be nice if that works out well.

Re: Spurs/Harmonics fixes for v4 based on v5 board design?
I had used a 50 ohm "T" , a dummy load made of 4 47 ohm 3 watt resistors and a short piece of wire stuck into one end of the "T" to link my RF Explorer to the uBitx without transmitting outside of my

Re: Spurs/Harmonics fixes for v4 based on v5 board design?
That is an interesting method, it would be pretty cost effective.? Unfortunately I can't disable my AGC, also I wouldn't want to send spurious emissions if I can avoid it.
