Re: Loud sound on first power-up

To me it sounds like the input of amp getting feedback signal from output!

I suggest to try SPEAKER ground to PCB connector pin 1 instead of chassis! At 22-10-18, you wrote:
To state the obvious, it sounds like feedback. Based on the harshness of it (square wave) I'd say it could be coming from one of the Raduino oscillators. However, you could get feedback if you have the PC board audio connector reversed, since that would cause the speaker output to feed into the mic input and the volume level to be reversed. I'm just guessing of course, and you explained how you connected it in the video. The wiring is pretty messy though, so it's possible that digital feedback is being picked up in another place incidentally. It's also possible there is bad capacitor or a short somewhere in the audio circuit. I hope that gives you somewhere to look that you haven't already thought of. Eventually you will just need to trace the received signal from the input all the way to the audio amp section to find out where it fails. |

Going immediately into Tx mode is usually the morse keying circuit not having the 4.7k ohm resisitor installed. Also could be the PTT line earthing. My version 4 is working well. Except that I can't find a reliable method of calibrating it! On Mon, 22 Oct 2018 7:35 am kindsvaters <df6mu.radio@...> wrote: Hi Rodger, |
Re: VK4PP uBitx LPF BANK add-on Board
Ok, SO just got some test results back from Warren.
Look like the bare PCB has excellent isolation between input and output, 90db. I think matches with RF rated relays and separate in/out relays this board will perform very well: Here is an updated pic, a few tweaks, more ground stitching. Only downside is the $1.50 relays (x8) reuse K3(or not) or get an AXICOM relay. Maybe Ill just change to using omron G6 in the TX/RX relay too.. Buy 10 on ebay and have a spare? Thoughts?? 74 NIck VK4PP |

I have a similar problem during calibration with my ubitx. Upon invoking calibration the LED screen tells me to tune to calibrate, (zero beat WWV)? but then immediatly jumps to transmit.
Am I doing something wrong? I am using original ubitx sketch.
Thanks

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHave you possibly forgotten the resistor on the board, missing that out will I believe put ubitx straight into transmit. ? I used the authentic metal enclosure in blue which came with the extra circuit boards and fitted the resistor as shown on the layout. Everything fine on mine. ? 73 ? Ian M0IDR ? Hi Rodger,
did you manage to fix this problem? I also wired up into Sunil"s box with the frontend board and experiencing exactly the same behavior, with Raduino loading and radio going immediately into TX right after powering on the radio. Here also ubitx V3. Thanks, Sergej, DF6MU |

My experience in QRP contesting is that trying to compete at the outset is difficult at best. However, trying again towards the end of the contest makes a lot of difference as the "big guns" seem to be more willing to dig us out of the noise than at the beginning of the contest. Jack, W8TEE

I heard many stations just a bit over the noise that I didn't bother answering either. Shame on me. I guess that shows my inexperience as a single-op QRP . My experience contesting is with multi-op "big" stations.? So here's where I think the psychology come in: When I'm on the loud end and I? hear QRP, I assume the station will be hearing *me* very clearly and half the battle is won. I can help the other end give me the information I need, if any. Well, that's how I did it, but its been 20 years since I was an avid contester. Another mistake I think I made was choosing "single mode." I'll run mixed mode next contest so I can slide my CW call into a pile-up. I'v often got "the CW station" as an answer in the past... this stuff is coming back to me but slowly! 73, Ed aa2mz |

Re: Fun with Pennsylvania QSO Party AA2MZ/QRP
Thank you! ,,,, it wasn't as much fun as I thought it would be: me sitting on a frequency and the world piling up to QSO ... it didn't happen.
It was about the same as last week.I worked just about everyone I called in the East Cost Maine to Virginia and west to Illinois. But no one, not one station answered when I called CQ.? Since I build the x40, i've heard out to California (I'm in western NY) , south to north South America and a lot of Europe. I think the receiver is doing its job.? So thanks for looking Ian!? I've got a MiniPA 70? (eBay 70 maybe 50 watt linear amp for $16 USD) on the bench almost ready to go, but that's a different thread. - Ed.T aa2mz |
