Re: #ubitx-help #ubitx-help

Thanks Howard for all your help. By shifting the connectors my first thought was that the transistors should not be affected, but who knows.
Yes, I just have to go the hard way and measure as good as I can (don't have a scope). But if you can give some hints what the voltages for the transistors should be, it would be of much help. But you have been very helply so far, so I can't expect you to waste too much time on this.

Re: #ubitx-help #ubitx-help

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Sorry you are having this problem. If you shifted the Raduino1 connector, and the transmitter is really working, I don't see how that can cause your problem since all the signals must be working for the transmitter to work. It seems like you will need a signal source and a scope, although you could manage without the scope, to see where the problem is.
If you don't have those tools, you could check that all the stages that have RX voltage and make sure that the transistors in those stages have the appropriate DC voltages, i.e. Q10, Q11 etc.

Good question,

?

But this can be a fruitful add-on to your existing display.

?

But If there¡¯s interest , I/we could look at a direct plug in module to replace the existing board, Pin-Pin compatible.

Too early to comment , depends on the acceptability of this screen by the masses.

I just wondered, as we're using the BuyDisplay.com displays which also offload the processing to the display. We're using the SPI interface with the touch screen feature as well. Are the Nextion users also using a touch screen feature? (I wasn't a touch screen fan at first, but now I really like it. Much more direct than encoder scrolling.) The JackAl display looks like:

The nextion displays have a built in processor on the driver card.? This is configurable with a supplied Windows client.

Essentially the nextion talks to the raduino with serial commands sending "meta commands".? E.g. I am now on 3.512.245 MHz.??? Or in the other direction, "LSB selected".?? In codes of course!

This provides complete independence between the display software and the hardware control of the rig.?? People can come up with their on UX for the display independent of a standardised protocol being developed to interface with the CEC firmware.

Makes a whole lot of sense to me!

What i really love with this sort of display: You could change the design and the whole UI without touching any code on the Arduino (or whatever board you are using).
The Nextion Editor is not the prettiest one, but after some practice it's working fine.

Since most of the circuits are bidirectional, and you can hear birdies, is still sounds like the antenna is not connecting to the receiver. Check relays K1 and K3 are not energized. Either one being pulled in will cause the problem. You could bypass the relays, and connect the antenna to the input of the low pass filter at C200 L1, as a quick test with a jumper wire.

Al, many thanks for posting this. Wiring that up is the next step in my project and I was getting ready to look into this. You saved me the effort.

I'm thinking of routing the hi level audio off the volume control (the yellow wire) to one of the 3.5 mm jacks for line out and the mic input (the violet wire) to the other so I can feed audio into the sound card for digital stuff...psk, etc.

I haven't figured out what the DB-9 is for, CAT control maybe?

Take the purple wire off the mic jack.? Run a wire from the mic jack to input of the ssm2167 module.?? Tap into the Green 5v+ and Yellow Gnd for the key and solder them to the ssm2167 board.? Put a 4.7k resistor from 5v+ to the input on the board to provide bias to the microphone.? Put a 10k ohm potentiometer? between output and ground and put the purple wire from the mic jack to the center.terminal.? My potentiometer is set 20-30% from maximum.? I just looked for spurs on the frequencies you mention, and all the spurs I see are nearly -60db from the carrier level. Is that a problem?

It occurs at 45mhz minus the output frequency so for 28mhz the spur will be at about 17mhz during transmit.
Its level ican be as much as -50dbc or if the audio drive is turned up to near overdrive -25dbC
as measured before the power amp.? Since the amp is has more gain at lower frequencies?
the spur may be 3-6 db stronger.

It can only happen for the band that use the 30mhz low pass filter (20mhz and up).
All the other bands lower the inboard 9 element low pass filter at 33-35mhz stops it
and the band selected filters with cutoff lower than that (80, 60, 40 30, 20, 17M)
are better but try to not over drive.

This is true for all modified or not.? None of the mods (anyones) are the case its
generated by the base radio and is only there if running SSB.? The CW
generation scheme does not create or use the 45mhz IF.

The only fix is a before the amp bandpass filters for 15, 12 and 10M and they have to be?
fairly narrow.

I'm still looking at other ways to deal with this but its there.? I have stopped with amp
work for the moment as a flat amp helps and also makes it worse.

Hello Jacob,
Thank you for your answer, I just have a little problem, I do not know the technique of the arduino well and I do not want to be silly, it's the same for the module ssm2167, if you can send me a tip schematic connection, it would be useful my email address is f6cht@... 73s'qro Joel f6cht

Re: #radiuno External VFO? #radiuno

Yes you could but make sure you get the levels going to the TT right.

There are other arduino based VFOs that could do the same work.

Either way your rewriting the code as the raduino does things that you
don't need other than cat.?

Above 22.5 MHz, a HPF cuts in with a threshold just below 22.5MHz, again killing off all the unwanted mixer products.<<<

Sounds plausable but then try a typical 7 pole HPF or LPF and see what it looks like.
They need to add more than 10DB at the spur frequency.? A?workable LPF with 22.5 at
least 10DB down will kill 21Mhz.? ?A HPF with 22.5 down 10 db will hurt 24.99mhz
but would work for 10M.? Look at the sort table posted at 28Mhz the spur is 11mhz
away and on the low side and at 21.45 its 2.11mhz away? on the high side.? At 24.99
you have the spur at 20.1 so maybe a low pass will work.

Its compromise either way band pass works but you need three.? For 10M adding high
pass works well enough?and is easy to switch in using the existing signals.? The 12M
case is maybe possible with HPF used for 10.? The 15M case is however a band pass.
?
Try Elsie or one of the other filter programs to see.? You need less than 1db at the
desired and more than 10db? at the expected spurs.? ?Also teh return loss need to
be good as the output of the 45mhz miser needs to see a good load or it gets worse.
