Re: HF newbie. Propagation questions - with pix!
A well-known problem... and I've encountered it here occasionally for some time (when I have that rarity, free time - and turn on my radios). It used to be that I often encountered S9+20-30 noise

ubitx v6 cat-only operation firmware
Hi all, I'm developing a firmware for use without the screen, just over CAT, with some pins assignments for my project needs, but which can be easily wiped out. A totally new protocol is used for CAT

Re: HF newbie. Propagation questions - with pix!
That's a good point. Tune down to the 074 position of the FT8 and if you hear a gaggle of them, you're likely hearing usefully. But I like to listen in the CW portions, there are usually some CW ops

Re: HF newbie. Propagation questions - with pix!
Don't get overboard, this seems to be the new normal. The bands are empty besides the infernal noise of FT8 and a handful of diehard SSB / CW operators that one can count on 2 hands and yet, reports

Hello, I wanted to know what type of capacitor is most effective for a power decoupling. Basically, is a SMD capacitor as effective as a ceramic or something other? In addition, there is a calculation

That should¡¯ve been going from no antenna to your antenna. Didn¡¯t catch that voice recognition error. Really important to have some measurement of your background noise.

How much local noise are you experiencing? inverters, solar panels, noisemakers, Power line noise? In the middle of the day when you listen in the lower half of the 20 m band you should hear lots and
