Re: technical question about filter capacitors
Arv: I bought a pack of small plastic cosmetic sample jars (eBay #151829253060) and placed caps or resistors in them. I then used an small Avery peel-off label, wrote its value on the label and stuck

Re: technical question about filter capacitors
Gerard I'm probably wrong but maybe there are no markings on 805 and smaller SMD capacitors because only a very few of us would be able to read the writing. Possibly something new and radical like a

Re: technical question about filter capacitors
One thing that is always annoying is that the value of a SMD capacitor is almost never indicated. I don¡¯t understand why manufacturers don¡¯t put a mark on the capacitors , when they do it on

Re: technical question about filter capacitors
Evan, This post is not directly related to the noises I have with 11059mhz filters. It was more a reflexion? on the characteristics of the capacitors on the Ubitx¡¯s output filters. The capacitors

Earl, I am away from my v6, but if my memory serves, it is between 400 and 500 ma. I can check this on Thursday if no one else can verify. 73 Evan AC9TU

uBITX V6 Specifications.
I am thinking of purchasing a V6 unit but since I am intending on operating it on batteries, I need to know the receiving current requirement. Does anyone know the idling current of the unit? Earl

Re: Split power for PA on uBITX v6
Thanks, Mark.? That does seem like a reasonable place for a bridge between the two sides of the 12 VDC circuit.? I was thinking there might also be a trace under the DC power jack that could be cut

Re: technical question about filter capacitors
Those noises could be just what you called them. Parasitic oscillations can cause that type of noise. Parascitics are usually caused by excessive wiring length, or by wires placed too close together.

Re: technical question about filter capacitors
For RF transmitters finals and filter I only use ATC multi layer ceramic capacitors. They are a bit pricey but well worth the cost.

I routinely use 100V, C0G capacitors. Here is one such https://www.mouser.in/ProductDetail/Vishay-Vitramon/VJ1206A221KXBCW1BC?qs=sGAEpiMZZMukHu%252BjC5l7YV7sUa2vBMeQDGC6z5Ph%2FLc%3D

Re: technical question about filter capacitors
The capacitors on ubitx are rated for 100v continuous duty. We have never had a case of a capacitor blowing up due to excessive RF.

technical question about filter capacitors
Hello, You agree with me that on the Ubitx, the output power (# 10Watts) goes through filters. Are SMD capacitors of this filters "strongt" enough? I asked myself this question because on a KIT N7DDC,

Re: Split power for PA on uBITX v6
Hi, Looks like there's a 3-pin power header next to the power jack.? I imagine on the bottom side there's a trace between the two positive pins that can be cut?? Just a guess... 73.
