Re: Pre-Order AGC boards
Just wanted to update people on the status of this. We had a delay at the fab house, boards are in product and we hope to have them soon! I have had a death of a very close friend and will be out of

Re: Bitx-40 - Where I Am Today
yeah, it was the same with me. i tried making all kinds of baluns, finally, i made an 'L' tuner for the efhw. it works very well. - f

Re: Bitx-40 - Where I Am Today
Well, for me, I have already spent enough hours of my life looking at different websites, to find all the pieces parts for a project (the least enjoyable part of the process). Sometimes, I will spend

Re: Bitx-40 - Where I Am Today
Yep make one! Super easy and saves you a bunch. Just rebuilt mine today (it was really ugly before) and they works great. Mine is a 40-10m version so it includes the 100pf cap. Brad KG5SPR

Re: Bitx-40 - Where I Am Today
In case you decide to build an end-fed, here's a link to a very popular design that's simple to construct and reportedly works great: Link: http://www.earchi.org/92011endfedfiles/Endfed6_40.pdf eHam

Re: Bitx-40 - Where I Am Today
Right on, and thanks, Ashhar, you invented a wonderful thing in the bitx-40! It will be a simple 66 foot dipole at home!

I don't know why many choose to buy, rather than build their own wire antennas... Here's how to make one>??http://www.earchi.org/92011endfedfiles/Endfed6_40.pdf

Re: ubitx schematic cleanup #ubitx
I've updated the page with corrections suggested by Jerry. Having watched the projects for years (time flies) it is fun to look back through the changes. feel free to update/correct it.

Re: Bitx-40 - Where I Am Today
Why would you buy it? Just get 66 feet of any wire from home depot and wind your own transformer. - f

Jim Nice work with the new instrument.? I don't think too many of us are concerned with the frequency accuracy, relative measurements of spurious are wonderful data. Sure start with cw, but if you

Re: Initial spectrum test on the V5 with my new spectrum analyzer #ubitx
Hi Jim, Good for the sampler -- wanted to make sure I was reading the pictures correctly as the print is a bit small (and doing my math correctly). Yes, I understand you are checking for harmonics.

I did not want to comment first, as I was not sure that i was interpreting the results correctly.? Based on Ashhar's comments, I was correct in that the what was a 40 meter problem is now a 20 meter

Re: Initial spectrum test on the V5 with my new spectrum analyzer #ubitx
I'll let someone else do those. I only operate CW myself and don't even have a microphone made up for any of my uBITX rigs.

Re: Initial spectrum test on the V5 with my new spectrum analyzer #ubitx
Twenty looks terrible. You may have to increase the attenuation a bit and crank down the bandwidth to 10khz or 30khz to show up the crud hiding in the grass. Can you do a second pass on twenty? Keep

Re: Initial spectrum test on the V5 with my new spectrum analyzer #ubitx
Nice job. It looks like all the bands except 20m are pretty good. I assume this was straight cw. I don't see any spurs. It would be interesting to see the same sweeps with an audio tone feeding the

Re: Initial spectrum test on the V5 with my new spectrum analyzer #ubitx
Yes it has an external 50 ohm RF sampler with a variable attenuator. I'm measuring the harmonics relative to the RF carrier, not output power here. Checking spectral purity.
