Re: Stone Soup
Maker spaces are great. I was a member some years ago at Tech Shop in Menlo Park, Ca. Enjoyed it, but for example, I wanted to look at the output of an inverter generator I had and needed to find, fix

Dexter, Here's what I said: "It's possible just a 45mhz quartz crystal would work, but that's not a given. " It's not a given that some 45mhz quartz crystal from ebay patched in using Raj's

Re: Stone Soup
I agree with Toms first statement. However, the point regarding test equipment I think should have some caveats. Here in Tucson we have a maker space with a full electronics lab including equipment

Re: Simple spur fix
Sorry, Jerry, DOES work. Why? Look at Y1 circuit: Xtal in series, 2 caps to earth. 45MHz passes, caps impedance-match? or stray lead capacitance? It's a filter! That xtal is series-resonant. 73 de

Without a standard how would we base any complaint to an operator that they are causing interference. The operator/builder of the interference generating equipment, if they wanted to be difficult

Hi Nick To me that looks like an oscillator, not a filter.

Allison We do have several group members who have not yet purchased any BITX of any kind, but are hanging around and using our group for mostly social purposes. Their stories about search-and-rescue

Re: si5351 crosstalk

Allison, I used a Si5351A in a 20/30/40 meter receiver I recently built. The crystal filter frequency was 9 MHz. So my LO frequencies were 16.0-16.3 MHz, 19.0-19.15 MHz, and 23.0-23.35 MHz. I used low

This is truly an impressive bit of detective work leading to this solution. Is it reasonable to assume that the 45Mhz filters are wide enough that purchasing filters that are from different batches

Yes and no Nick.? The parts either side are matching netwoeks and not required based on results. Can you wait for instructions?? Your trying to make simple complicated. IF you have a filter to do it

Ah, yes I see that, Y1 is just the 45mhz crystal. , but what bout all the other components around the actual crystal? The inductors and capacitors too. So when I talk about a complete 45mhz filterIi
